When he was speaking about childhood friends and one friend had murdered another and the reason for the murder was,” just cartel politics.” Desensitized to the cartel violence and the mentality level is lives are lost and it’s it’s less serious cause it was just business. It’s scary really scary. They’re all over America and the world. Life is not valued the same.

In my younger days I met a first Generation Mexican American kid and started dealing with him. He got busted and received a 30 year sentence at 21 Only after he was busted did it come out that his uncle was the Sinola Federation's representative for the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. The nephew was just like the hillbilly kids I met him through. Just a kid with way too many drugs trying to make a few bucks and chase girls. I don't think people realize we have 3rd generation cartel folks that are born and raised in the US.

@Timothy He was delivering 2 bricks of ice and a brick of Coke while DUI. When he was pulled over for the DUI, they found the dope and a receipt for a hotel room where he had several bricks of ice and powder. The locals pulled him over on the humbug but the feds were already investigating him and had already got him on two wire buys. They rolled it all into one case. They really wanted him to tell on his uncle, so they hammered him. Plus he had a state felony drug charge on his record.

He’s probably not saying anything that isn’t already known and even if he sort of did it’s not like he’s testifying in court, and even if that was the case most criminal organizations aren’t going to go around killing American citizens if for running their mouths, the heat and negative publicity would just make it even worse. Would be a different story maybe if he wasn’t an American and was saying things they didn’t like south of the border, in the territories of the people he pisses off.

Around 2008 me and my homie were in Tijuana crossing the street and la policia stopped us and said we were jAyWaLkiNg and “fined” us fifty bucks, cash right there on the spot, or else we’d have gone to jail in Mexico. The cops jack people like that. I kinda get it though because it has to be annoying how Americans come down there just to party & slide back to San Diego.. crazy times.

Mayo is definitely mentioned in Narcos Mexico just not a super main character until the end of the series then his story is cut off. Which also the final season was cut short due to threats of continuing the series if you look it up
