Koshunae I hope we get small trucks again. Never liked big trucks and those things just keep getting bigger. I felt like I was driving a bus when I got behind the wheel of a newer f150.

I would like a fullsize for the towing capability but my ranger can pull most of what I want. I have an aftermarket class 3 so I could pull a small car if I wanted, but it would be struggling the whole way through.

Koshunae better drivetrain, leafs from a larger truck and strengthen the frame and you should be good. I feel like ford kept the rangers underpowered so it wouldn't bite into the f150 sales as much. Kinda funny how the 5.0 from the explorer is nearly a plug and play swap but the rangers never got the engine from the factory.

It is nearly a plug and play but there is a bit of fab that needs to be done to get it to work well. But as far as making my ranger better at towing, I could buy a fullsize anything for the price it takes to strengthen the frame put a stronger drivetrain in it. Not to mention I only have the sohc 4 cylinder.

Which I reckon is a little bit low too, but unlike a LR Discovery 4 which makes close to 600 Nm from its 3 litre V6, the Ranger has a more even spread of torque across its rev range. For a vehicle that'll be hauling and towing regularly I reckon 470 Nm is a good number for reliability and performance.

MAEguy A lot of them are like that, Clarkson is only seen as the forefather of this style because he's the most known. That doesn't make it his style, it's just the way British people are. They're very sarcastic, they like to exaggerate the statistics to an extent and they like to be edgy/make borderline offensive jokes or comments.

Shona It's not that. There are plenty of other British reviews out there to watch and none of them have this problem. Richard and James are funny too, but they have their own style. Fifth Gear does excellent and fairly entertaining reviews too in a completely different way. Chris Harris is just as sarcastic and opinionated as Clarkson, but yet he still makes it his own. Even Carfection (terrible name, great videos) pulls off quintessentially British car reviews that rival the best of them. They don't have to overly embellish anything, but they're still funny and at least they're also informative. None of these other British reviewers are half as annoying as this. The problem is that he tries too hard. His "humor" comes off labored and unoriginal. At that point it stops being funny and starts being annoying. But 12 year old Car Throttle fans love it, so they just keep putting him in videos and having him act even more ridiculous. At the risk of sounding like a hipster I'll say Car Throttle was better before it was cool. It's not without merit now, but the "funny" videos usually aren't and the comment section is often full of crap.

+Aaron Lopez you're totally right about it competing with the Colorado I don't know why they got rid of ranger or the sport trac. It was a good truck to have where you could take the family out and put some stuff in the back and get better mpg. But it's simply not a commercial truck. It might be able to haul 3.5 tons etc. but I highly doubt it can do that on a day to day grind without struggling... a lot. The guy that I bought my car off of his 2010 ranger couldn't haul the 2200-2300 pound rx7 without struggling
