My favorite would be red wood with platinum trim (versus gold). The first pair (black/gold) looks best on you followed by the tan/gold.

Light brown wood for the natural, toned down look. Do they need adjusting round the ear to pass the 'head-shake' test?

They should be made to measure in the first instance and then they will be fine purely from the natural texture of the wood
