Saturday Video Entertainment System is among the shortest-lived blocks in Cartoon Network's history, lasting only one year. In my opinion, the primary reason for it's failure is that the block never managed to distinguish itself from the already-established Toonami brand with regard to programming. What might have helped the block live longer is if SVES were to focus on western action cartoons and youth-targeted anime while Toonami's airtime would be the exclusive home of mature anime (as is the case with the current Adult Swim revival) Based on this notion, here is a self-devised SVES schedule which follows the aforementioned programming format.
