Your wood needs to be 2.5 cm (1 inch) thick if you are carving a bigger giraffe, or a bit less if you are carving the smaller one (2 cm).

Werewolf whittler greetings hon simple is best is why I chose whittling as a hobby just a knife and a branch can make hours vanish and de stress im not good at drawing or carving animals I can carve irish shillaglahs fighting sticks and spoons and wood spirits I been carving a mushroom and wood spirits in one I has plenty of olive wood from my country in South italy great instructions cutie wolf 👍🇮🇹🦊🐾🐺

Hi! A very beautiful giraffe! I love your wood carving technique. After coating the wood with paint, fluffiness appears, so I use a surface primer. I see you don't have this problem. Do you use an oil or varnish finish?

Hey, thank you so much! I don't really use a surface primer, although I have tried applying oil at first before painting. Not sure if it made a difference... I like applying wax on the finished project though!

Hey! Thank you for you kind words! I will show it in the beginning of a next tutorial then. I am a bit wary of doing a dedicated sharpening video, because it's such a controversial subject :D there are so many ways of doing it and people often argue about the best method

Well, ideally you should go and sharpen your knife right now :) I try to do it every time before carving
