Indian Govt did the right decision to make Auto companies to make their cars in India rather than importing from outside. There are some ‘rich kids’ complaining about the lack of top end models in India due to the taxation of GoI, but that taxation is the reason why Indian middle class can afford cars.

this is not how economics works, higher import duties or local manufacturing will only help in the case of mid-level or entry-level car brands. entry-level cars get sold in thousands whereas luxury cars get old in the hundreds. for any economy to grow citizens should spend higher which in turn creates jobs and higher income sources. once these luxury brands start selling in good numbers, they can then invest in factories and other local manufacturing luxury car makers mostly develop products in-house so they will need numbers.

You are completely wrong. If government will not impose this policy then cars will be more cheaper and affordable in India because more players in the market= more customer friendly service. Compare Indian car market with other countries car market where market is free from government interference. You will know the result. But Government don't do it because deep inside everyone knows that no Indian brand can compete against foreign brands in fair fight. So Indian car mfg. Companies give politicians donations and in return government support them. It's not problem of only India. Almost every country does the same and it's loss making decision for consumers.

It is a common knowledge that Pakistanis are craving for Indian cars, which they know are of good quality and are of super value. However, India is not selling its cars over there (and also shouldn't), because of all what Pakistan has done in Kashmir and our country. Pakistan & its government can't be trusted. In a hypothetical scenario, what will happen if one fine day Indian cars start selling over there, and then are subjected to blasts and negative propaganda? All of this in name of maligning India's name and the image of Indian car building industry. So it is in country's good that Indian government decided to curtail all business relations with that country and not export Indian automobiles and other goods there.

This video doesn't fully present the true facts. After the 2016 Auto policy Kia and Hyundai weren't the only brands to set up assembly plants in Pakistan. Kia, Hyundai, Isuzu, Pougeot, Haval, MG, Proton have started selling local cars with some locally manufactured parts. VW, Skoda and Renault plants are under construction and will soon be operational.
