Watching this video reminds me of how many things I know how to do as a carver I learned from this man.

Thanks a lot for videotaping these, Lynn. I'm a beginner wood carver, but I learn a lot from watching folks like you.

As you said at the end "good things just happen" thanks for your video here! I want to carve like this and inspire people too! My Grandpa used to carve but I never knew him, this was a heart warming home how to video. Take care!

The thing I hate is when a video is not loud enough I can turn the volume down but these days you can't turn up the volume enough to hear them so the louder the better love watching you so someday I will learn Thank You So Much

Wonderful carving, you create fantastic characters. That green tape is brilliant stuff I and others used it in a washing machine factory in the UK that I worked in over 20 years ago, it saved my fingers from getting cut to shreds while pushing hundreds of terminals into timer blocks, there wasn't any tape like it in the UK only available from the US.

Pine will do that within an inch. You can be carving away at southern yellow pine and next thing you know, the grain changes less than an inch away from where you just were, on the same side. I started on pine and may go back to it, because getting basswood seems awfully expensive in comparison. It is a dream to carve though. I wish I could get more basswood. I have settled on carving with my smaller Swiss Army Knife. I use the smaller blade. It stays sharp a lot longer than any of my other knives. I was using my Xacto knife, but it is just a little too weak for deeper cuts. I switch to it for the fine tuning. Subscribed. I love your carvings. Beautiful artwork.

Hi, Lynn You state that one should NOT buy "Vetwrap" as a finger protecting cohesive bandage. LittleShavers.com (and perhaps others) sell Vetwrap. So, what's the difference between your (unnamed) selection of cohesive bandage and Vetwrap? Thanks!

Hi Lynn, I know this upload is a couple of years old but if you ever find yourself struggling to upload large files to KZfaq due to poor broadband speeds, there's a great programme called Handbrake that compresses video file size, making uploads much, much quicker. Great tutorial videos btw.
