Incredible! It must have taken you a long time of practicing to become this good at carving

How do you do it so cleanly? I just started whittling and I'm unable to get into small spaces like that without leaving a line of wood. But yours is so beautiful!
@Werewolfwhittles9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! It mostly comes with practice. If you just started, don't expect immediate amazing results, that's not realistic... You'll get there! That said, the most important thing is a sharp knife
@danielherndl72649 ай бұрын
A sharp knife is the most important thing for whittling. An Opinel is a great knife for beginners. Also very important is the wood. If you will whittle sculptures like in the video, try to use fresh birch. And a small tipp for the finishing: you can remove all small pieces of wood with a sharp 90° edge, like the back of a knife.

What did you use to stain the wood i normally use mineral spirits
@Werewolfwhittles10 ай бұрын
This is Howard's feed-n-wax. Interesting, haven't tried mineral spirits

@@Werewolfwhittles ok thank you im working on a bowie knife as a present and was wondering cause it looked so good and also mineral spirits can be good to an extent for staining the wood but doesnt give it much of a shine its just something better to use if ya dont have anything to fancy

How do you attach the the hook to it. Do you just glue it to the pendant?

Hi, this is an eye screw, so I just screw it into the wood!

Not for pendants, because they lie flat on the chest when wearing, so not point to carve both sides really

How long wouls something like this take you?
@Werewolfwhittles2 ай бұрын
Oh, quite a long time... I think the design period is quite long, because I make sketches, look at photos of foxes etc. After that it's a few days of carving and refining
