Stormwatch153 What do you mean by ‘endless’? This Land Cruiser is $10K more, yet doesn’t have air suspension like the GLS 450. I think it is better to spend $10K to maintain the suspension and other stuff in a couple of years.

Stormwatch153 Would you clarify, please? Anyway, to elaborate, for $75K, you get an Alexa-like infotainment system, hybrid system, smoother ride to be more all terrain, and better accleration and handling, because the batteries are in the rear creating a more balanced weight distribution. All those things Toyota does not have. I can have more fun driving the GLS and in a couple of years spend the savings on fixing those things, though hybrids are supposed to be more reliable than an ICE-only car.

Favourite doesn't necessarily mean best in class. I've always consider Toyota old fashioned and basic which is one of the reasons why they are a bit more reliable than your average vehicle. But to be honest here in Australia I believe people buy these vehicles blindly due to brand name only because as far as I'm concerned the LandCruiser, Prado and Hilux have one of the ugliest plastic interiors when compared to other manufacturers.

Stop freaking out at me in the comments about how the Land Cruiser is a more reliable car. I literally NEVER said anything about reliability. Exactly !!! This is why, sometimes I hate Matt videos. Because he is promotion crap !!! If you buy your car for show off, you need to look somewhere else, never for a Toyota, but maybe Lexus (their premium brand), otherwise, why the heck would you watch this video? Toyota was, is and hopefully still will be the one to teach others how a reliable car is to be built. I need to go from A to B in safety and knowing that I will actually reach the destination. For this purpose, you can't say no to a Japanese car in general.

oh dear this comment section is too salty hahah there's no denying about the LC's reliability and it's truly an iconic and legendary vehicle, however I wish Toyota made some efforts to put changes and updates for its interior. I mean if I really want to get an extreme off-roader or something to take on the outback, why would I pay for 80k+ for a new LC if I can clearly get a second-hand in good condition LC which is way cheaper and can probably outlived most cars SUVs trucks on the road?

Paolo Ariedo You people try to make the same argument. While it may be a ten year old design, if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. Same with the gu patrol. Came out in 1997, went off sale in 2014 and 2016 in Australia. It’s a proven formula and those cars are the most common to see here all kitted out with off-road things. Have you see a newer merc or Land Rover over 300k miles? Thought so...

Yep. A land cruiser is not for people that test the cushiness of the inside of the sun visor tray. That's a gimmick. That thing needs to drive to puddles of salt water and not fall to pieces 2 years later. That thing must be able to be roughly pulled out some place it might got stuck without tearing the frame to shit. This thing must be able to fall on some rocks to the underbody without it sacking through this axels or have fluids leaking. This thing must be able to stand idle in the scorching sun for 4 hours straight without overheating. It must start in one go after its big ass engine sat still for 2 months on the north pole.

asad khan okay... to be clear I’m not trying to insult the land cruiser. I’m simply providing constructive criticism that I have for it since I drove it. As for the Cayenne, yes the repair bills are expensive but they kind of go under the radar in terms of attention. People only really appreciate them when they get in because of the build quality and materials. Plus! Porsche’s are very reliable despite being German, sure there’s the occasional one that craps out but I’m afraid there is the occasional Toyota that does that too.

Thanks to Toyotas superb reliability and strong resale value it’s worth every penny ( top spec model costs AUD $120k here similar price to a BMW X5) !! @@saintbarnabasshackles2437 Yes, because it's so easy to convert 13mpg (US) to l/100km within seconds for it to stay relevant and not get lost in a video. Let me show you how you can make it in seconds. First you have to calculate how many km is 13 miles - 13*1,609=20,917 km Then you convert one US gallon to litres - 1 US gal=3,785 l When you have calculated it within a second (because it's so easy, you don't need a calculator), you can proceed with dividing 20,917 to 3,785 - 20,917/3,785=5,526. Being such a bright mind as you are, you can now divide 100 with 5,526 - 100/5,526=18,096 And you have got yourself a result - 18,1 l/100km. It was so easy. Also 235,21/mpg formula is so widely spreaded (it was a joke if you didn't understand). Let's just hope that the presenter will mention next time as well what gallons are we using.
