As long as we're not comparing lap times, the only other cars I believe could keep up with the speed that an F1 car can go around a corner would be a WRC rally car, the WRC fight even be faster than the F1 around a corner but slower in lap times obviously as rally cars have low top speeds

​@@riba2233a quick 4 seconds of research shows the McMurtry Spéirling set a quarter mile time just under 8 seconds, but the last 3 seconds of the run was done under a limiter which holds its speed to 150mph. I assume they still have that limiter in place given that it appears to have only gone 150mph

Depends on the track. F1 will probably win on a fast one. McMurtry on narrow tracks with slow corners.

You do realize that the Speirling has more down force than the F1 car right? And at lower speeds it's has 5x 6x times the down force

Tbh, that better be a smooth ass road, I'd be worried about the tires the most as that'd likely pose the most danger to the driver. At least they're all mid-rear engined, so if something blows in that department, it shouldn't impede your visibility.

Batteries don't last forever...neither do brakes or electric motors. Electric cars are not any cheaper to service in the long run. To have usable range you probably have to change the whole battery pack every 4-5 years which will cost as much as changing the whole motor on a normal car.

@300mrwa 2010 wants their information back! Most manufacturers have 8-10 years/150-200k miles warranty on battery and motors. Good luck getting such a warranty on a gas guzzler... Example: Model S/X Plaid have 1020 horsepowers. You can launch it non stop every day for 8 years/150k miles and still have full warranty on battery and motors. And solid state million mile batteries are expected to arrive soon.

That sounds like great warranty until you understand the fact that changing the entire battery modules cost more than half of the entire car price. Meanwhile the average Toyota can run as long as you want to if you take care of them, and what i mean by take care of them is just changing oil regularly and regular maintenance that you can do it yourself. My uncle have this old isuzu diesel pick up with zero mileage on it. The old champ been running for so long it’s odometer flipped back to zero, he recently do some restoration work on it the whole build cost no more than 3k.

Refurbished batteries are available for a way cheaper price from third party resellers in case it breaks down after warranty expires. They'll trade you for your used one, fix the few broken cells, and it's ready for another vehicle. Bosch autoservice has done this for years in Norway. Also, 93% of all sold new cars in Norway are electric, so it won't take long before fossil fueled cars will be something belonging to the previous generation, or collectors

That means when you reach 160k km you’re on your own if something happens to your battery. 160k km is nothing for daily driven vehicle. To give you some perspective, I commute 120km daily, that means if i use tesla I would ran out of warranty in just little over 3,5 years, and after that if something happens to my battery it’s gonna cost me more than half of the entire car worth of money. Ofc all of that are the worst case scenario, the best scenario you mightn’t even need to replace your battery for more than decade. But what’s the worst case scenario on ice car? Even the worst case scenario on ice still wouldn’t cost you more than half of your car worth in 3 years. Don’t get me wrong, ev are great. And I would switch to ev sooner or later. But I wouldn’t switch until they found some solution for this battery modules price, longevity, and durability.
