It’s no surprise to anyone that cars are constantly evolving and changing. From supercar EVs to small SUV crossovers, cars which you’d never have seen on the road 10 years ago are becoming very familiar these days.
Now of course, change can be a good thing! But on the flip side, the consistent release of new and different cars means some classic car types are now disappearing!

@@toninocars The GR Yaris is a great car and captures some of the spirit, but unfortunately it's nowhere near as raw or powerful as the old Evos. All models were just a small mod away from 400hp plus.

Well made point of VR6, debatable whether it sounds better but that's more down to exhaust balancing rather than engine - a V6 can sound like a VAG VR6 with small changes

7:40 the Evo 8 ended production in 2004/2005 evo 9 was from 2005 until 2008. so the FQ400 evo 8 was 2004 or 2005. The evo 9 was only made up to FQ360 trim.

@Add - J Not that easy I'm afraid. They need to find and implant the embryo into a suitable host, which isn't easy. Currently they're trying to bring back the mammoth using an elephant and that's proving difficult so far.

This is exactly why I bought my manual M140i as could see that big engined cars were disappearing, especially the manual ones. Absolutely love it, the sound of the straight six, rear wheel drive and the manual box all make for a great driving experience.

Can’t agree more. I have an f20 m135i and the sound and power for the money just can’t be beaten. I’d say it’s a future classic but with the inevitable ban on any petrol cars (new and 2nd hand eventually) I’d savour it while you still can.

I remember when we’d all turn our noses up at the auto versions of the performance cars we owned (Supra, anyone?) because they were so much slower to accelerate than a skilled driver operating the clutch and gearbox. Now, try to keep up with a Porsche PDK transmission in a manual version of the same car: good luck!

Yep, you needed a high stall converter put in. Also they had less gears than the equivalent manual, now its the other way round.

I love the MK4 Golfs. Even today think they still look good. Kind of a timeless design. I’d give anything for an R32. But unfortunately just isn’t practical. Prices are definitely on the Up and definitely not a practical car to run on the daily

Evo IX had 360hp version (FQ-360) and Evo X had 400hp one (FQ-400), but for me it ended with JDM spec evo 9 mr

Rx8 lasted till 2012 so it's the last car to be fitted with a rotary engine. Also isn't audi still making R8 with the v10 engine so lambo may not be the last company to use it

They’re still around, just not in supercars, which is just as well because supercars are getting too fast to enjoy a manual in. Shift sticks are in hot hatches now, which in my opinion, is the ideal car for a manual because they’re not as fast. so weeping goodbye to manual supercars may not be such a bad thing...

The people that buy supercars now though aren't the same, people just want to be seen in them to say they have a supercar, not sure actual driving is really top of their list of priorities.

@@chappy2121 true. Most of these kids that own a lambo probably don't even know anything about it like the performance, the engine etc. They only bought it just to show it off to other people

@@qeedzhr And I can reinforce that with an example. Just heard an 18 year old say a few days ago that his dream car "is a Ferrari or Lamborghimi". He obviously knows close to nothing about cars, having only driven a CLS bought with youtube money before. He surely wants the 'rarri or lambo for even more clout and basic Instagram pictures, nothing more. I'm willing to bet a penny on that. I realize I'm overly cynical, but I found his aspirations downright cringe not to share with you.

@Seamus McShamish Who doesn't love Ferrari and Lamborghini? They both got deep history after all. My point was that this kid is in love with the brand image, not their cars, and he's setting a negative example.

The video is incorrect! There are manual supercars being manufactured today, such as Gordon Murray T.50, Aston Martin Vantage, Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (not yet revealed) and the Singer-Williams DLS wich is also air cooled.

Some brands still have manual supercars: *Noble (idk the name)* *Porsche (GT3)* *Chevrolet (corvette)* actually the newest one probably not anymore, but the last one still did *Lotus (Evora)* *Honda (civic)* not sure if this counts, maybe it's a hypercar *Aston Martin (Victor)* 840 hp 6 speed manual. Pretty sure this is a one off, a concept type thing, but I would love to see this produced, it's gorgeous inside and out. AND HAS 840 HP IN A MANUAL.
