this discoloration is more of calcific metamorphosis, not of hemorrhagic byproducts produced as a consequence of pulpal necrosis. treatment options can include vital bleaching, non vital bleaching after intentional nsrct, direct or indirect veneer and a crown.

Sir my question is as it is a non vital tooth can we only do crown prep without rct followed by placement of crown.? If not why is it cumpolsory to do rct?

Aoa sir My question is Since there's no reduction done on the tooth and a layer of composite has been placed, doesn't it make the tooth bigger in size? How was the size maintained? Layer of thin composite can't mask the shade right?

Wasalam Farrukh. Ofcourse Veneer Prep (tooth reduction) was done to make space for the composite and maintain size :)

atleast 0.7 to 1mm of layer should be removed to make room for opaque shade, body dentin and enamel shade. but mind the fact that preparation should be intraenamel as adhesive's bond to dentin is weak as compared to enamel.

your huge admirer doc. faizan,,but how can yu say there is no infection?tooth is discolored due to necrosis of pulp,,to get rid of internal or external absorption we should do rct first..,it is the only ethical way.,n i want to know if pt. is not willng for rct can we do comp.veneer?dnt yu think it can make your bad impression in field of dentistry?if in case pt. goes to another dentist,,thank you.

Thankyou for watching Fatehan and for the kind words. 1) This is more of calcific metamorphosis not necrotic pulp issue due to trauma. 2) Symptom free since forever and no signs on the xray. You can opt for an RCT anytime in life if symptoms show up, which i doubt. 3) Composite Veneer hi kia hai :) Lastly this is ethical practice. Ethical practice is whatever you think is best for patient in the boundary of professional work. Also, if the patient is well informed about why you’re doing what you’re doing and the pros and cons in detail, he is not going to another dentist. If he does, relax because 1) You know kaam theek kia tha 2) any experienced person would know kaam theek kia hai :)

Thank you sir for such great videos. I have a question though relevant to a previous video. Do temporary crown come off easily when its time for permanent crown/and how are they removed.

You’re most welcome Haris and thankyou for watching. Depends how you have cemented the temporary crown :) If you’ve used temporary cements, its pretty easy to remove them. Hope that helps
