Harvest is rolling on... and we are trying to make some corn stalk bales, but our Case IH baler is down. It can't wrap them correctly so we are calling in the big guns... thanks Dar!

Hartung Family Farms is a farming operation out of Jackson and Clinton County Iowa, with our main farm located in Preston Iowa. We have around 2400 acres of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, rye, and oats as well as around 750 head of cattle. We have a wide range of International equipment from small tractors from the 1970s to newer large farm tractors!

I watch a # of different KZfaq farmers. Inexplicable to me is how your family is one that has real meals with real nutrition. Nice to see a lunch pail vs. Pizza box or taco bag. God luck and thank you 😊

Ron, you and your family are so blessed to have your Grandmother and Uncle Bun still Involved in the working of the farm. I was wondering if your Grandmother and Uncle were brother and sister ? I know one thing, that Young Lady sure can cook. She is priceless to the whole operation ! Y’all are Blessed !

Definitely need to get 2 corn heads the same size either 8 or 12 row. you will get a lot more efficiency out of 2 8 rows working together than an 8 and 12 row running in different lands. I would probably say that 2 12 row heads would be too much combine for the grain handling system.

I hope that you make some deer hunting videos again this year. I went into Theisens tonight looking for a new sweatshirt but instead bought a clearance field deer blind some assembly required. Something to put together during next week's Iowa cold snap.

5-6 wraps doing corn stalks. 3-4 in straw. I run a New Holland (aka Case baler builder) Never a problem making 1,400 lb. stalk bales.

We had the same issue this year baking corn stalks. It did great for the first like 20 but then they started to bust open and fall apart. We have a Vermeer

Ron I am with you on the grain cart should take from both combines and then go dump the cart. We got one grain cart for 2 combines the cart can hold 4 dumps but we don’t grow corn here in Saskatchewan 😊

One combine with 12 row one 1150 booshel cart and 2 triple trucks. Rarely wait unless going to the ethanol plant.

Sounds to me the management on that farm who makes the decisions has done things a certain way whether it's right or wrong. And is not interested in hearing anyone else's input I know it's frustrating! Some old dogs can't be taught any new tricks.
