I need to replace my gauge cluster. Where can you get the one you have?
@benjaminfitz56262 жыл бұрын
They are on facebook marketplace. You will have to do a little searching. Since the tachometer for the 611 spins backwards you will need to buy a massey-ferguson tach. that spins the same direction. This is what I have done.

I had one of those tractors, supposedly the clutch just dumped pressure from the converter. The gears would grind so bad you would put it in gear then start the tractor. I got rid of that tractor first opportunity.

I noticed when you shift in casomatic mode and throttled down, it doesn’t grind.

@@markconley9279 Mark thanks for the reply I tried everything I could think of had the valve off and it would still grind, maybe I missed something.

Cold fluid, grind. Wrong fluid, grind. Old and warped clutch pack, grind. Idle too high, grind. Some people could run those smooth as silk. I think it depended on whether the first owner of the tractor back in the Sixties roasted the tranny or not.

Hi. I got a little confused. When you we’re approaching your shed you put it in caseomstic. Then you said it was in 4 direct. I do find it a bit confusing. So u start in caseomstic. Can you run in that all the time? Only put in direct when you are just up to speed and going constant? Could you just drive in direct abd that would be the same as one without caseomstic ? Thank you

A better way to phrase it is torque converter versus direct drive. The Case-o-matic system starts out in torque converter drive (this is the same concept as the torque converter in a automatic car). There is a lever on the dash opposite the throttle lever that when flipped engages a clutch in the transmission and locks up the transmission so that it performs like a gear drive tractor. Meaning there is no slippage like the torque converter. Anytime you step on the "clutch" pedal and let it back out or flip the lever back it will default back to the torque converter. The COM tractors spent most of their lives in torque converter mode because it defaults back to it. Hopefully that helps. They are easy systems to run and STELLAR loader/barnyard chore tractors.

Also, my 600 was only ever in torque converter in the video as best I can tell. I was not building up enough hydraulic pressure on that worn tractor to get the clutch to lock up into direct drive.

Its going to lug. Case O Matic is nothing more than a torque converter between the engine clutch and transmission. In direct the TC is locked, In COM it is unlocked and can slip. In COM, you should be able to drive it just like a car, you should step on the brakes and it should stop. When you started up hill in COM the converter was slipping, when you put it in direct, you locked the TC to the transmission, the slipping with in the converter stopped, causing the engine to pick up 100% of the load, which caused it to lug a bit
