Despicable Me (2010) Final Battle with healthbars

Gru tries to make it to the ballet recital, only to learn of Vector's plot. Hurrying to the fortress, Gru hands over the Moon, but Vector refuses to hand over the girls and flees in his aircraft.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nefario and the Minions discover that the effects of the shrink ray are only temporary, as the shrink ray will wear off on larger objects quickly, causing it to return to its normal size. Gru and his allies rescue the girls before the Moon returns to its normal size and launches itself into orbit, with Vector stranded on it.

But the shrink ray probably takes away a huge portion of the mass of whatever it shrinks, otherwise the moon would retain all of its mass and be UNGODLY heavy. This would explain how Vector survives being crushed and how Gru can just carry it around in his coat.

Theory: What if Gru secretly knew the effects of the Shrink Ray were temporary and so intentionally decided to give the moon to Vector so that he could suffer once it became bigger? This probably might not be true, but it still sounds interesting.

Well, not exactly. Given Gru’s surprised reaction to Nefario telling him that the larger the mass of the object, the quicker the effects of the ray wear off. I’m sure he also wasn’t aware of the ray’s effects being temporary when he went out into space to shrink the moon.

@@cjproductions0 Which is why Gru even attempted to do a midair rescue of the girls before the moon launches into orbit, taking the girls along with it, which is why Gru wanted the girls to jump, even though one of them said, "ARE YOU INSANE?!??!?!!", with the grappling-hook rope breaking and Gru and Margo plunging down and they would have fallen to their deaths if it weren't for the minions jumping off at the PERFECT time and fish them back up.
