Not that I owe anyone an explanation as to why I'm using (and have been for the last 3 years) a cash envelope system, here is my "why": I tend to be impulsive with spending because of my ADHD and am paying off not only student loans, but credit cards. Using cash makes spending more difficult, so I spend less than I used to. I still struggle with it and am still figuring things out, but it's an improvement over where I used to be. Consistency compounds!!
