I recommend "The Silver Collection" which has captured all the qualities of Dusty's voice. It's a gorgeous album. Apparently, "Dusty In Memphis" comes a close second so I'm probably going to get that soon.

Casino Royale is rated so badly, but I remember watching this on a grey Sunday afternoon as an 11 year old in the drab late 80s, and it's been one of the most influential films in my life. The story and the jokes are crappy, but the sets, the costumes, the colours, the choreography... and I can't recall ever seeing a scene more seductive than Ursula Andress sashaying through her flat to The Look Of Love. Influential because it was this that woke something up in me and had me really interested in art, visuals and design.

'Casino Royale' is sort of the standard example of a movie disaster, but although it's stitched together, most of the individual segments are quite good, especially the opening John Huston segment. And the jokes might be a bit 'topical,' and therefore inaccessible to post-60's folks, but they are actually very good! Woody Allen wrote many of them!

This is outstanding. A real taste of late 60s British vogue. And a chance to appreciate the ageless femininity of Joanna Pettet and a young (and leggy) Jackie Bisset. This is a terrific movie that no one will admit to having been involved with making it.

“The Look Of Love” (1967) was co-authored by Burt Bacharach and Hal David for the motion picture “Casino Royale” (1967), a spoof of the James Bond movie. Bacharach recalled : “I had Dusty [Springfield] sing that very sexy. Dusty was very open to suggestions. To listen to the vocal […], she’d have to go into a control room. She wanted to hear it alone. She was very tough on herself. But she did a great job.” The song was not released as a single in the performer’s native UK, but it was a modest hit in the US. It was even nominated for an Oscar for Best Film Song of the Year in 1968. Miss Springfield might have been the only one who noticed, but she claimed that she hit a lot of FLAT NOTES in the tune, which she recorded at 10 o’clock in the morning❕ 💚🎶🩷 ALWAYS LOVED, NEVER FORGOTTEN, FOREVER MISSED WILL YOU REMAIN, Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O’Brien, a.k.a. Dusty Springfield (1939 - 1999)… 🌹

This was actually the first "Bond" movie I saw when I was a kid. I didn't know it was a spoof of the all the Bond movies starring Sean Connery at the time. I imagine this is the kind of film the great Mel Brooks would've made if he'd been asked to direct a Bond movie. Anyway, I loved this movie as a kid, and I loved this song by Dusty Springfield, although I think Isaac Hayes ' version in the '70s is cool, too. The songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David was pure musical genius.

To put it simply, this is bloody magic. Whoever put the video together, should be doing TV or Movie. The music track, which I fully understand, being a musician, is the base, and follows, I actually cant put it into place at the moment. The cutting, editing and matching, is something else completely, and I know sweet nothing about film. Being a musician, I was drawn to the video by sound; when I saw the cut, I was enthralled. I love the song, seen the movie numerous times, and have an emotional attachment to the song. If this was the trailer for the movie, it would win an Oscar. Whoever you are? Thanks. It's brilliant, I'd love to give you more credit, you bloody deserve it. What you put together could give you a job on the next Bond movie.....

Yeah, I was a fan of the Matt Helm novels, they were much grittier than the Bond novels. But the Matt Helm movies were cringe.

I agree. I thought Pulp Fiction (non JB flick) was hard to follow. Sometimes these all-star cast movies have no rhyme or reason.

I'll never forget the first time hearing Dusty Springfield I ran to the cd player at my friend's house because I had to know who was behind that beautiful sultry voice. I had to beg him to lend me the cd. Sadly, it was the only cd I never returned.
