This really is the greatest Bond movie ever made. 15 years later and this is what I think of whenever I hear someone mention the James Bond films. There’s been some highs and some lows throughout the entire franchise but Casino Royale stands out as not only a brilliant Bond film, but a truly brilliant film in general.

I adore this film! It's so well written and put together. It's the first Bond movie I saw where Bond feels like a real three dimensional human being rather than a comic book character. It's not just the best Bond film, but one of the best movies I've ever seen: a beautiful tragic love story, character study and origin story wrapped up in an intelligent and exciting action thriller. I haven't liked any of the sequels after Quantum Of Solace, but Casino Royale will always have a place in my heart.

I completely agree with you. After the lackluster 'Die Another Day,' this trailer didn't make me think that this Bond film would be that much better. After seeing the movie, I came out thinking that this is by far one of the best films in the whole franchise.

This is still Craig's best performance as Bond. He's still great in his other movies but this one had the most impact. I always find it more interesting when they go with a younger, more reckless and more vulnerable Bond. Maybe that's why I think Brosnan was at his best in Goldeneye as well.

I had to come back here after No Time To Die 😭 to remember how in 2006 the 14 year old in me was hyped up for that new Bond film coming out. At first I didn't really care for Daniel Craig being the new James Bond since I was a fan of Brosnan's 007, but I gave him a chance. He deserved it after all. And boy did he show us that he earned it! Five films, 2006 to 2021. Daniel Craig, thank you for the 15 years of James Bond you have given us!

Just finished watching this again. This film doesn't waste your time. We've all seen so many movies that didn't spend the budget properly, call the right director, or add together the details so wonderfully. I know everyone loves Sean Connery, but Daniel Craig nailed this. After the credits rolled, I said "Sean Who?"

I quite liked Spectre. Christoph Waltz did a great job bringing Blofeld into the new generation. The only sad part is that there are rumors Daniel Craig won't be doing Bond anymore, so that dynamic rivalry they've set up between the two won't be built upon.

@@alexraitano7599 He also loved Tracy. I also don't know if the whole kitchen sink psychological approach ("that's what made him a lady's man...") is applicable to Bond's character at all. It's very soap opera. He loves women. Period. Sometimes they get to him, sometimes they don't. I'm sure the wear has an impact on him in one way or the other, but it's hard to pinpoint in on: Vesper! Were it different, Ian Fleming would have used that a little more (although, the book "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" tells us that Bond always visits Vespers's grave when he happens to be in the region.)

Friedrich Schmidt yeah it could be I don’t know the old classics bonds very well as the modern ones when I first liked James Bond i only got into Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan and yeah On her majesty’s secret service he wasn’t hardly ladies man like he normally be in the other bonds Tracy most of been his second main woman after vesper if that’s the case but vesper did start him off coz casino royale was the first book novel Ian Fleming wrote it’s the bond story of how he become 007 in the movie he was learning to be agent for the first time it’s why they where telling him off quite when he was making lot of mistakes on his missions such as the bomb maker he chase after and shot but he was meant to bring him to MI6 safe house for questioning

Prior to release I recall there was some opposition to a blonde hair and blue eyed James Bond. Turned out to be the best movie and best Bond ever! Re-watched it last week and still loved it

I remember the first time i watched a bond movie my dad introduced me to this unbelievable character its was doctor No we watched them all in order then the brosman era happened goldeneye was fantastic by the way same director as casino royale and always have been a traditon that we watched every bond movie never saw my dad weep till we finished no time to die i saw disappointment on his face but he said on his lates 70s that he was happy to see the end of his movie hero thank you Daniel Craig i will always remember that movie night with my old man

Man, 'no time to die' was released in the worst time for a bond movie, it's really a shame that garbage was Craig's final bond movie.

Im here tonight and LITERALLY watchin the Casino Royale trailer for the first time ever just after I came back from No time to Die. I just cant believe its 15 years :o and since the very beginning I was huge Craigs Bond fan. The best series of the 50+ years. Its sad its done :(

Sad indeed. I so love and appreciate Daniel Craig in the role that I am watching all of them again in order. I just watched Casino Royale and it is a masterpiece. I think I still like Skyfall the best because I love the opening chase scene and the fight on the train. Daniel Craig was the best by far and that speaks volumes because Sean Connery was phenomenal. Moore and Brosnan were very good as well.
