This video is a review and comparison of the Casio G-Shock GBD-H1000 and Amazfit T-Rex Pro. I'm going to share with you the differences that I observed according to my daily usage and preference.

Well for someone that does actually want a watch to be more than a watch the T-Rex pro is a much better option, you are paying only for the well stablished g-shock brand, not because it is actually better, as a watch the g-shock is great, if you want a smart watch then it would be stupid to buy the g-shock, the features are weak, navigation is poor, bluetooth is crap as well and GPS is terrible, but the solar power and build quality is time proven from Casio. Basically you are paying for the brand not for the real benefits.

Thanks for the review buddy. I purchased my GBH 1000 in Australia on sale for $279! I’ve found it fantastic but agree with you about pros and cons. Specifically, getting to notifications is tedious. But durability, visibility of time, Gshock features and battery life is impressive.

Great review, the t rex is much better looking and stylish and for the price there is no question that its the better option by far,..

The only feature missing with the casio is gps navigation that's why I bought the Garmin instinct tactical. I only regret the efficient solar charging of Casio.

It’s a feature I probably wouldn’t miss and yes you’re right, the solar charging is great. I’ve yet to feel the need to charge it since the time of making of this video.

Thank you for the review and mainly for saying that Casio is NOT the full featured SMART watch, but the G-Shock with smart features. I honestly think there's a space on the market for these type of devices and I definitely give thumbs up to Casio for doing that!

I'm looking at allt of watches thst.contain GPS, fitness etc but I also need a watch that is durable as I am an engineer. By watching reviews the casio is of course top choice but are there any others anyone would recommend?

Garmin Instinct 100% Pros it blows away G Shock for features It also looks a bit like a GShock Cons : Its a bit small for my liking. 45mm. Really it could do with being 50mm like most GShocks. However due to the size its easy to wear in bed for sleep tracking. Let me know what you go for!

Had Instinct for half a year now. Its great watch, simple and get the job done. Using it for hiking and runnig . I would recommend it easily .

i have started to use gbd h1000 since 4 months and i still didnt charge with usb cable. only solar charge is enough for most of the functions. charge level is still full. i used to use garmin instinct solar and with the same functions with casio gbd h1000 garmin solar charging can not keep up with the battery drain.

You’re right. I have yet to charge it since the time of this review. It’s still just 2 bars short of full charge. Amaz-ing.

instinct solar needs 3hours of direct sun light a day, according to some reviews.If you are really outside there will be no problem.

Efficiency in solar charging is definitely higher with Casio compared to Garmin. i have used them both and still using Casio. With only less than 1 hour solar charging Casio battery life becomes indefinite. But you need 3 hours solar charging with Garmin for the same battery life.

What's the actual weight of the Casio GBD H1000 itself? Google search gives me 101g and 69g, I'm not sure which one to follow. Pls advise thanks!

GBD-H1000 is 101g which is the watch being reviewed here. GBD-100 is 69g which is another watch.

in terms of GSHOCK...its about duarbility, shock resistant, long last..and solar powered added...i also did got the GBD-H1000-1A almost 2 years ago...and never had a problem till now...2023...its durability and its connection my phone is great...waterproof as well...using this for swimming...overall for my opinion...its a great watch...well of couse nothing is perfect,...there are pos and cons...but GSHOCk is a GSHOCk totally durable-strong and solar powered

Casio is a tested and proven watch company using new technology.. Amazfit t-rex is a technology company making watches.... if you understand this, you will know the difference. I have the t-rex and the gbd-h1000. its great but, do I trust it when I need it? I'll always go with a G shock over any watch any day.

@Sir Kyushu I can't say iv been on a trail and had the t rext break or die. Your right it's a seriously good watch. My biggest gripes, is when you turn the screen on the information at the time the screen turned off is displayed for a second before the system catches up. And I just don't trust the watch strap. Battery is great but still needs charging. And over all the body of the trex will scratch and chip much more easily the my g shock. My gbdh1000 will go through anything without needing a charg ever! Looking as good as the day I bought it. As for price you're definitely right, you get way more features with trex probivided it's connected with your phone. The g shick can function with or without connection but os system is a user preference as I never use those functions. I still like my trex, I wear it when I know I have a constant connection with my phone

@Sir Kyushu also a side note with connection being an issue with some functions. I just trust the ABC functions on a g shock way more then the trext

@Sir Kyushu all in all both great watches . G shock wins for me being only a hybrid "smartwatch" getting more back to basics for me was what I wanted. The t rex wins on its os, price and cool factor

Its a gshock and looks beautiful... I am watching all these videos of this watch because i fell in love with the looks of this watch... However, all the other fuctions which the watch provides i am skeptical as its falling short in providing a proper customer experience. Also the MRP of $399 is a bit on the higher end

i think your are better off with the GPR B1000 Rangeman, GSW H1000 Smartwatch, WSD F20/ F30 Protrek Smart watches all though all these are very expensive. But the GSW H1000 is only aprrox $100 more than what you spent on the GBD H1000 and looks even more rugged i think.

Casio is kodak or Fuji film. Old School. May not suit all. Smart watch just same like other digital camera..latest but easily outdated.

they gave me the T-rex.I`m a farmer and the truth is that I am not very careful well,the T-Rex it`s not hard or resistant at all,it GPS gives an error of 6Kms !!!!!! even if you recalibrate it,it still fails.It doesn`t connet well to the smartphone.It' s resistance to water?:In the shower doesn`t get in,but the screen goes crazy......¡A real Shit!!!. Has any one tried the mudmaster GBD-H1000?-When I talk abaut testing I`m not talking abaut the test on a table or in the office,how are you "tests"that are performed in these videos-Thank you.

un teste de cette montre de nuit avec toutes les fonctions serais un vrai teste j'ai une tissot touch expert titane et toutes mes fonctions sont opé de nuit comme de jour et une g shock mudmaster gg b 100 je très déçus de la mudmaster altimètre et boussole de nuit impossible le petit cadran numérique n'ai mais pas lumineux une vulgaire led éclair l'écran analogique a jamais mettre dans les mains des militaires c'est les envoyer a l'abattoir pour des montres en plastique de ce prix c'est de la publicité mensongère et me pose la question sur ce model G-Squad HR qui lui aussi a peut être ce même souci du coup je garde ma tissot pour un sacré bout de temps encore

casio is still stuck with 30 years old tech , many function that 90% people don't need and design that all g-shock looks the same when you are standing 3 feet away. smaet watch are getting smarter and this is the first smart watch stepping into casio territory ... if Im casio i will be very afraid ...

Smartwatch is and always be a watch toy. If I'll be in an event, I'm better rocking on a gshock steel rather those one day battery powered smartwatch. Also, smartwatches updates yearly model releases so deprecation are very fast and G's with solar powered and atomic time, I don't have to worry on my timepiece every where I travel to different countries.

Casio is ahead of time. There is a marked for smartwatches that only has some basic features. I don't want to read emails and receive calls on my watch (that's silly). Most people have their phone close all the time anyway, since smartwatches mostly rely on bluetooth for those features. Talking about those 90% functions - did you mean T-Rex?
