I bought this same model few weeks ago... let me tell you, that's one of my best buys in my life. I'm carrying it every day, and with every new day I learn to appreciate it even more. It's reliable, it's precise, it's tough, it's practical, it's comfortable and unobtrusive, and it's not expensive. And to me it's a beaut. Simply said, it's the best watch in the world. Ok, maybe the same model made out of titanium is better, but not much better. ;)

Yes, this particular version (gold/positive display) is now only available from Japan, or cheaper (but probably without warranty) from eBay. I bought mine from South Korea. If you have problems getting the atomic time signal from Fort Collins, you can use a WWVB emulator. The Bluetooth time sync is performed with CASIO's time servers not with the phone's clock (which means is also synched to an atomic clock minus a slight (ms) delay).

Just added this little gem to my G collection and it's quickly become my daily driver! Just love the squares..

Love this watch. The new positive displays from Casio are really a step up. I recently purchase a gr-b100 in positive green display and it really pops! Enjoy that combi bracelet!

I got a GST-B100 I thought ok that's enough no more G Shock but then I saw GW-B5600BC. Just can't get enough of these G Shocks...

I just got the GW-B5600BC-1B, aside from a negative display, it has much less clutter on the face of the watch, take a look. I find that the negative display is not as hard to read as some make it out to be... and the auto backlight looks amazing. I am finding that if you pair it with Bluetooth, it will always use that to sync 4 times per day. I am going to try and turn the Bluetooth off at the source (which is my iPad) to see if it does use the time signal from Colorado, I never kept it on prior to getting the watch. The slight downside is that one can not see the battery level on the watch itself, only in the Bluetooth app. But being solar, not all that important really and I do leave it by a window when I am not wearing it (I have an old, all metal atomic solar for years and years so my habit is to leave it by the window!).

I really like this B 5600 the colors reminds me of GX56BB-1 G shock king watch so so many G shocks to collect so little money lol

Picked up the GW-B5600HR-1 a couple of days ago. Really wanted a positive display though couldn't get into the gold colour as an every day wear watch. The combi bracelet is so comfortable and this watch has become my absolute favourite!

I enjoy my GW-B5600BC-1ER very much and also have a GW-S5600-1JF (like a GWM5610-1, but with different graphics, a carbon fiber strap and a titanium caseback).

This looks like a very nice watch but I think a bit large for my small size wrist. I recently did purchase a G-Shock watch though after trying one out for size in a watch retailer shop here in the UK which happened to be on sale with 25% off the retail price and it fit very nicely. I checked around for other prices and eventually settled on the 5610 and it really is a good watch on my wrist for size and a great timekeeper with it being radio controlled and of course solar powered. Thanks for your video on this watch though, very well explained.

For the money, can't be beat. For what the metal version, you can get a decent Hamilton if you look around, I bought the exact same watch, paid a little less from Amazon. I like you live in the NE, in Ocean County, NJ. I just leave it out on the window sill, for atomic clock and for the morning light to keep it charged up.

How do you know when the battery gets low?

I've got this watch but mines the GW-B5600AR-1 the red adrenalin version and it looks awesome! Regarding BT sync mine syncs to the exact second so I'm not sure what's up with yours and I've check it again Atomic app using the NTP server. BT sync is the future I can see Mb6 being phased out eventually. Anyway Ive subbed to you mate look forward to more G-Shock's especially the squares.

I love my B5600 but I totally hate the brace end-links overhanging.. I don't have the slimmest of wrists, but those end-links having absolute zero flex to conform to the wrist.. it's so off putting 😠 Luckily, my M5610 has the exact same issue (I've installed a combi brace on it as well) BUT.. the end-links are conforming perfectly to my wrist size.. so, I can wear it just fine. Because.. LUCK! 😐 I only wish these hard braces would have a little bit of angle/play play from the lugs (like any "normal watch") so they could wear perfect on more wrist sizes.. For ex. if my wrist would have been just slightly larger like my right hand one is, that M5610 would not fit me.. (the B5600 though just so happens to fit my right wrist perfectly.. not my left one 🤦‍♂️) And the other way around.. On my left wrist the B5600 bracelet end-links overhang just enough to kill my will to wear it.. I've ended up installing the og M5610 resin straps on my B5600 and since those have some flex to them, just about made it wearable.. just about.. It is still not perfect and I've had to sacrifice wearing it on it's nice original combi brace which I love.. 😐 It would be great if I could find a narrower angle combi brace for my B5600 or at least some 3rd party end-links to replace the original ones, this way making it my perfect daily casual watch.

The G-Shock square is finally showing its age, that notification ticker in the top right corner looks more like a workaround, a hack. It's barely functional. I guess it's neat to have a "sleeper" smartwatch that looks just like an ordinary Square, but at the cost of functionality... Pass. I'd rather have the entire top half of the display be dot matrix, though it must be cheaper to repurpose the display they're making by the millions.
