Just want to share this. JESUS CHRIST died for you in a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and was, is, and will be The TRUE LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have FAITH in Christ. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and turn away from your wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You.

Absolutely do the swap. You’ll also get 96 registration memories to store all your voice/layer/split settings. With all the extra sounds, you’ll create some excellent layered customized voices. Those are all I exclusively use with mine. Also, you can’t imagine what an improvement the display makes for performance and editing. I never think of using the app instead of the onboard operation. I fully agree about how natural and responsive this excellent action is. I also really like the surround effect. Amazing how it makes this piano present itself like a real instrument to the player.

Hey thanks for that - i think this will be a smart change to make. Glad to hear you’re ok with the interface, some people say a lot of functions are deep in menus. But I’m thinking at least there ARE menus, and once I’m used to them should be ok. And the 3100 doesn’t really seem a huge upgrade from the 3000.

I found the menu system well designed and you learn how to find all the adjustments you commonly make. Sure it could be better with a larger display but I manage fine and don’t need to refer to the manual. Be sure to check out the great number of settings that are stored with a registration. If you want to really customize your sounds, these memories are essential.

Very informative video. I like how clear all the informations were presented. But I don't like that I have started thinking more about buying s3000 over the s1100 😅 which is only a little bit more expensive here in Uk.

LOL - the 1100 is still an awesome piano, it just depends on: - do you want rhythms, accompaniment and extra voices? - are you ok with using the Chordana app even though it can be laggy, or are you OK using key combinations from the manual to change settings? (or maybe you won't use many of those settings so it's not a big deal for you . . .) - do you care about losing the 1/8" audio in? All of those things are super important for me, so I've decided to swap to the 3000. Menu, more buttons, more sounds, rhythms, 1/8" audio in and the same action that I love (and that stage piano patch!) Thanks for the kind words and for checking out the channel! I do have a 3000 on the way and will be doing a review once I get it. Thanks again and feel free to subscribe

Thank you for your Video! I have moved out from home but dont want to stop playing piano, so I am currently looking for a e-piano with a acoustic-like feel (obviously 88 weighted keys). I like all the modern features of the pxs-1100 and the slim design, however, I’ve heard someone on YT complaining about the black keys being several grams lighter than the white ones. Is this something you can confirm/ have noticed? I am worried as I mostly play classic music…
@PianoTone
@PianoTone Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I'm definitely the opposite of classically trained (I learned how to play with a chord based approach) so I may not be the best to ask, but I quite liked the key action. It's light and fast which is my usual preference. As far as whether I noticed the weighting "issues" in my playing, not at all, but again I'm still pretty new and I rarely play acoustics. And I know people who use the PX-S series to play with professionally who love them, especially for the portability. If you prefer heavier more acoustic piano like actions you might want to look to a Roland FP-10 or FP-30x; they have more realistic piano actions (which are also a heavier feel), but they don't run on batteries though so not as portable. I did review the FP-10 and the predecessor to the FP-30x (the FP-30) if you want to check those videos out. FP-10: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/paiRZaeI18q4hJc.html FP-30: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7GmmLKF1c_Tfac.html Hope that helps!

Thanks for sharing, I just own it for a month and have not used it much besides practicing scale and chords. My only complaint maybe it’s hard to play 4 note chords with mix of black and white, the white key will be very heavy to the back. The headphone jack in front can actually be audio input for my phone or tablet, not sure if that’s what you need. I put my headphone in and connect the other headphone jack to my device so I can hear the video tutorial in my headphone.

Hi there! Are you saying that if you connect your iPad headphone out to one of the headphone ports on the piano and your headphones to the other headphone port on the piano that you can hear your iPad through the headphones? I’d highly recommend looking for a discounted 3000-having the better user interface is worth it even if you never use the arranger stuff - just being able to see your voices and setup layers (and save registrations) is totally worth it. Not to mention the stage piano voice which is amazing and not on the 1100.

On my CT-S1, I have touch response set to heavy. I know you prefer a lighter touch sensitivity, but I am curious about the levels of sensitivity on the PX-S1100 and PX-S3000/3100. How is the response while playing very subtle and soft to big and loud?
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 2 жыл бұрын
If you like heavy on the CT-S1, my guess is you would like normal on the 1100; for me I use light for piano and extra light for electric piano. Light for piano allows me to hear the most different dynamic levels; if I use light for e piano I really have to pound the keys to hear changes in the samples so extra light works better. I tried x-light on piano, but that was too light - couldn’t trigger soft samples

Do you have any issues with playing the keys at the top of the key? I notice your examples were playing at the bottom of the keys. I recently bought this and do notice an issue with the keys being harder to play at the top due to the lever being at the edge. It's noticeable in more advanced classical pieces. Also have you had any luck with the Sound Modes? I was messing with the Hall sensor and it just changed the piano sound to have this dingy after effect. I can't seem to get the surround to work. And just don't use it. And you're right about Chordana. I have an older phone and it won't work with it. It would be nice if it wasn't just an APP but something that ran on my laptop.

Hey there - I’ve noticed that issue on all digital pianos to be honest - I didn’t notice it to be any worse on the 1100, but I’m also NOT a classical player or classically trained (I pretty much just pound on chords ;) ). I didn’t mess much with the effects TBH; I know what you mean with the surround though - a lot of reviewers seemed to really like it I actually found it kind of echo-y and kind of cheesy metallic sounding (but the plain reverb was nice) Hope that helps! One problem I've run into is the sound coming out of speakers and/or coming out of PA speakers. Most digital pianos do not match an acoustic piano that is miked. They have a tinny or hollow sound. Therefore it would be a big help to know if any of these reviews are miked via a PA instead of going directly out via output jacks or via headphone jacks.
@PianoTone
@PianoTone Жыл бұрын
Hi there! I record all of my reviews using direct audio (from a USB audio interface built into the keyboard if it has one, or from LR line outs if it has those, and if neither then from a headphone out). That way you get the best depiction of what the sound of the piano is without it being affected by good/bad speakers. I also usually include a speaker demo where I just record the speakers using my iPhone. For the PX-S1100, i used LR line outs because it has no built in audio interface. Hi i'm a new suscriber and i'm watching many of your videos to decide which piano model to buy. I have a question about this casio model, I was watching the review of the roland fp 30X and I noticed that there is a feature that allows you to connect the piano to your phone/laptop via bluetooth and record it using a voice record app or any other record app. Does this Casio Px S1100 has that feature as well? I think you mentioned the Bluetooth audio/midi but not sure if it only works for playing/listening songs in chordana app. Thanks a lot for your videos I really like the way you explain in the reviews very understandable
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 10 ай бұрын
Hi there! Actually the Bluetooth on the FP-30X allows you to send MIDI from the keyboard TO a device (so you can use it as a wireless MIDI controller with MIDI compatible apps) and it allows you to send audio from a device TO the keyboard wirelessly to play along with. It does NOT send audio TO a device (I don't know of any piano that does that). The Casio has the same functionality (but it needs the external bluetooth transmitter, which is included). The Bluetooth audio in is super handy to have, but for MIDI out with any keyboard I find usually has to much lag to be useful, so if I'm using MIDI I always use a cable. The big difference though is in the USB to host port (so when you use a wired connection to your device). Just like Yamaha has been doing for years, Roland finally caught up and included an audio interface in the USB port - so in addition to being able to send MIDI out it now also sends audio; this allows you to create high quality direct audio recordings without needing an external audio interface like you would with the Casio (like a Focusrite Scarlet). And if you are using MIDI with a cable, the other advantage of the Roland is that the MIDI audio that your device is generating will come back (without lag) through that cable to your keyboard and come out of the speakers; if you're using a MIDI app with the Casio, that audio only comes out of the device's speakers. Hope that helps! Thanks for subscribing, let me know if you need any more info!

@@PianoTone Thank you so much for replying my comment! So the FP 30x has more advantages for recording than the casio which is something very important to me, I find it amazing that you dont even need an external audio interface, I always have thought that it was a must have for recording any piano and I wanted to skip that part by using bluetooth midi recording or something but now I know that is not possible due to the delay/lag, the thing is that I like a lot more the casio sound honestly im in love with the grand piano sound from the casio and the red color from the pxs1100 is also a plus, the price difference here in mexico isn't that much so now I will probably have to think on buying either the roland alone or the casio 1100 with a dual chanel focusrite scarlet. Thank you so much for the knowledge you share I will be checking your videos to keep learning, thank you greetings from Mexico

One thing I would like to see in the review of any digital keyboard is an assessment of the pure acoustic piano emulation function of that keyboard. If I owned a house, I would get an acoustic piano and that would be it. It will be fun to play around with different functions but my intention is to play scales and exercises and work out of a teaching series like Mikrokosmos (Bartok). For sound as such, I don't think Casio is the absolute best in the $400 to $750 price range, but the reviews have me convinced that in terms of keyboard feel, Casio has the best acoustic piano emulation. The Casio PX-S3000s are as scarce as hen's teeth by now. The Casio entry level choices are down to the CDP S160 and the PX S1100.

Tony, I have finished my testing of FP-10 (it unfortunately developed some clicking noise that I knew from my previous experience with Roland PHA-4 action digital pianos) and I am coming back to three options: Yamaha P-125a (again 😄), PX-S1100 and Kawai ES120 (my problem with Kawai is that there is no good dealer close to me and, what matters even more, no Kawai service depot). Could you please tell me again what do you exactly prefer about PX-S action when comparing with GHS)? Did you hear any news about the availability of P-225 in Canada? By the way, I now have access to Yamaha C7 grand piano (three times a week) so my digital piano needs are reduced. Thank you, Michael
@PianoTone
@PianoTone 10 ай бұрын
That's cool you have access to a fancy piano! When I first had the Casios (1100 and then 3000) I thought I preferred the action to the 125 but after a while decided I did like the 125's better. Originally I thought the Casio was "more responsive and a bit lighter" feeling, but after a while decided I preferred the GHS after all. I still like the Casio action better than Roland, but the Casio action is a bit "bouncier and looser" than the GHS which is more stable, firm and dependable (to me). Comparing the PX-S to the 125 action is almost like comparing the 125 to the 515; the latter just feels more "solid and better built". The P-225 still isn't on the Canadian website; last i heard it was expected in late fall (hopefully pre-Xmas). I also have never tested (or even seen) an ES110/120, but a store where I live may be bringing them in soon and renting them so if that happens I will definitely do a review. From what I've heard from others, the Kawai actions are supposed to be leaning more towards the PHA4/acoustic piano feel than the GHS or Casio actions, so given you preferred the PHA4 (other than the clicking) you might like the Kawai. Although I THINK the ES120 action is also a new "compact" version of the 110 (like what Yamaha did with the P-225-move towards Casio's model) so who knows . . . .
@mfurman
@mfurman 10 ай бұрын
@@PianoTone Thank you Tony. It was helpful to me. I will clarify the Kawai service issues today and decide between P-125a and ES120 (that I tested only briefly). Depends what you want to do. To connect the 1100 and send MIDI data to an app on your laptop, you would use the USB port and a USB cable. To send audio from your piano to your laptop you would use the L/R line outs with audio cables to an external audio interface box (like a Focusrite Scarlett) and then connect that box's output via USB to your laptop.

I have seen that; I owned an 1100 for awhile but the user interface (or lack thereof) drove me crazy so I switched from it to the PX-S3000. I think I remember you saying you only played piano sounds mostly, so the interface might not bother you as much (having to use key combinations for EVERYTHING; and the Casio Music Space app is very flaky). I've tried the 5000 in store only, but that whole series of Casios (5000, 6000, 7000) seem extremely expensive for what you get. If I was blindfolded I would have a hard time telling the difference between the action on the 1100/3100 and the 5000 etc; I would buy a 3100 ahead of any of the 5000+ series and save some money if it was me.

How does the CDP s360 piano sounds fare against the pxs1100? Is it that big a difference that I should buy the 1100 instead? I'll mostly play the piano, but it's great to have options.

Hi there! The CDP S360 uses the AiX sound chip (same as Casio's high end Casiotone keyboards) and the PX-S uses the AiR chip; the piano sounds on the PX-S are going to be a tiny bit higher quality but will you or I notice it? That's hard to say. I actually made a video comparing my Casiotone CT-S1 (Aix) to my PX-S1100 (AiR) piano sounds - you should check that out, because the CDP-S360 will probably sound close to the CT-S1. Here's the link to the comparison: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntKFgLV7zpu7oYU.html If it was me, between the CDP S360 and the PX-S1100 I would lean to the 360 because of the menu screen (much better user interface), rhythms (great for practice) and cheaper price. The only thing missing from the 360 for me would be the L/R line outs, but that's not the end of the world, headphone outs will work ok too for external speakers if you do that. Other thing to consider is if you can find a discounted PX-S3000 (since the 3100 came out, the 3000's have gone on sale in many places). Hope that helps! @@PianoTone I checked your comparison of the cts1 and the 1100, and I prefer the 1100's sound a lot more. I checked online and with the local store, 3000's are out of stock. I am looking to train as a classical pianist, and considering the korg b2 and the 1100. The 1100 is pricier, but I think the piano sounds are better than the b2 and can be powered by batteries. Korg b2 also sounds good, and I think is pretty good for what I do apart from not being battery operated. The only thing I'm concerned about is the action with the 1100, specifically for my use case. I can't play and test them as I can't find them in my city, so I totally depend on you guys on KZfaq. What's your opinion on korg b2 vs the 1100 for my use case?

I’ve never reviewed a B2, but I saw your message while I was at the music store just now lol! I tried a B2 and the action (while not an action I happen to like - I find it heavy and “mushy/slow” and shallow; but everyone is different so you might like it) is definitely closer to an acoustic piano than the lighter faster action on the PX-S pianos. The speakers sounded good (30 watts!) the piano sound is ok; it comes with a nice pedal but it is a proprietary jack so if it breaks you have to buy another from Korg. If it was me and I was looking for more realistic action and was going to play classical I would lean towards Roland FP-10 or Yamaha P125, but the Korg action is definitely more realistic than the Casio. Hope that helps!

@@PianoTone The only weighted digital piano I've played was a Roland, and I found it to be pretty heavy for my liking. Maybe I should prioritise my comfort while playing, and hope that as long as it's a weighted digital piano that I'm purchasing, I'll be able to adapt to an acoustic piano as well. P-125 in my country is a bit expensive and hence out of my budget. Both the fp-10 and the p-125 cannot be powered by batteries, so that's an issue as well and that's why I was looking for a Casio. Fp-10 also doesn't support a triple pedal, which I think might be important for my use case.

@@brijnoorsahni932 Closest I can say is the Roland FP would be heavier than the Korg which would be heavier than the Casio. The Korg doesn't take batteries - and I'm not sure it takes a triple pedal unit either (I'm not positive - I just quickly checked and there is a Korg triple pedal unit but the B2 isn't listed as a compatible model). I have the Casio triple pedal unit for my PX-S3000 and it's awesome (and it's portable - most triple pedal units are not, they have to be attached to the stand) so that might be another check in Casio's favour for you. I guess you have to weigh the importance of: - closer to acoustic piano action, bigger speakers (Korg) VS. - battery option, possibly better quality sounds, triple pedal compatible and L/R line outs (Casio) . . . Hope that helps, let me know what you decide!

I have fp30 and its not fun to play for me. The keys feel like mud and its tiring and it feels inconsistant and hard to be precise. Its hard to play fast tempo upbeat songs it all slows down and lacks energy. i think this casio is my next pick. How did u sell or trade your roland?

I consigned it at a local small music shop, he sold it within a few weeks. From how you describe the action, I think you will like the Casio 1100 action it's lighter and faster. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe.
