And this is why Casiopea - Casiopea is their best album.

what makes him better?
@Kimo0_o Жыл бұрын
@@miltonmilky5970 If you ask me, Takashi Sasaki’s flows remind me from that of Buddy Rich so he’s pretty much at that level. Don’t get me wrong, akira is an excellent drummer as well and has marked a long and outstanding reputation in the band but even with Takashi being in the band only for a short while, his drumming was on a much higher scale. He’s one of the pioneers that put Casiopea on the face of japan back then.

I still like Akira's style of playing better and its complexity, but Takashi Sasaki can play those insane fast rolls and really smooth sounding fills which i like too

His drumming reminds me way too much of Bruford's and Cobham's.

We need more footage of 1979 Casiopea.

@Clemens Schrage I'm still trying to figure out when exactly he left the band. I read somewhere it was during the making of Superflight, which was released in 1979 according to Discogs, but in this footage of Space Road allegedly from 1980 it looks and sounds like him though I can't tell for sure. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdlgg7qL1NG0cZc.html

@@pleasetellmethatyouloveme6922 There's one bootleg show with Sasaki playing, 'Live @ Lo-D Plaza 10.10.1979,' which is only one of two tapes where he plays live. The other one is on New Years Eve 1979 and is very poor quality (and may just be one of the last shows he played with them). Other than work with Casiopea on their Debut and SuperFlight, he also played on an album called 'Spiral Fusion' with the rest of the original Casiopea lineup, but no complete upload of the album exists on youtube. As far as after Casiopea goes, I think he worked on production duties on other recordings and did session work, but mostly resigned himself from the major music industry. Alot of this information is speculative, mind you, but he's such an enigmatic figure with such little information about him that its hard to really find anything concrete.

One of the tightest pieces of music I have ever listened to / watched. Sasaki is a monster alright but Sakurai is another one if you ask me. This rhythmic duo is kind of the Japanese cousin to the Mike Clark/Paul Jackson duo. But sped up.
