Nice to see the same looking locos looking so good individually and so different to each other with all the added details. I know those locos are very smooth running, but Michael's seemed to be ultra smooth running, soft as silk!

Yes, his Shay runs beautifully. They each have their quirks. His is very smooth.

Nice seeing both Shays there. On My Large Scale under the live steam section there is a build thread for the kit version of the 13 ton shay and there are a number of posts that it needs the no 8 gas jet to run well.

Indeed. Michael’s number 8 gas jet that came with his engine has a teeny burr in the hole. Just a badly made part.

Theres only one thing better than a Shay and thats two Shays.Awasome. Maybe Michael will come back when his burner is working so we can see both running. Thanks guys😃

The shays looks great, I had a look at the Accucraft Shay last year on their trade stand at the Yorkshire garden railway show. Very nice and I really like the logging locos but couldn’t justify putting my name down for one, wish I could have seen one running at the time.

I am a lifelong fan of the Shay. It is by a long way my favourite type. I passed up several during my time in live steam. But no longer. 😊

@@Terrys-Steam-and-Cobi Can’t blame you for taking the plunge, I had a Bachmann Spectrum G scale Shay a lifetime ago but I sold it when I committed to live steam in the garden.

@@SteamTrainsNStuff a relative died several years ago and left me a little something. Enough to pay for this shay and my Regner Lumberjack.
