a few suggestions. 1. cut a cone into your two part mold and use a wax injector for perfect wax templates every time. 2. casting plaster is called investment.3. never break investment off with a hammer you run the risk of hurting your ring.4. while the investment mold is still over 1000 degrees F. after you centrifuge the silver in, dunk it in room temp water and the investment will disintegrate off the silver causing there to be no need to use a sand blaster. for anyone who wants to do this there are much cheaper and effective ways. the big one being use a wind up casting centrifuge instead of an electric one, also a simple acetylene brazing torch is more than enough heat to get the job done and with a bucket of water you can skip buying a sand blaster.

Excellent video! I do want to ask: 1) if you chose plaster over clay for any reason? 2) is there any substitute for centrifugal injection, such as gravity supplemented by vibration, or is the centrifuge critical to quality?

I I'm sorry, but you just must improve your teaching skills, because the matter is super interesting and you are really very good at it.

What a hilarious video. I especially liked the part where he smashed the investment from the casting. I like the way he pretended to show us stuff without showing us how to really do it.

At least I have now a vague idea how this works process works. I can't help feeling this vid was made more for your entertainment than a desire to teach beginners the many steps involved. You took it for granted we knew what products you used. I had no value from you showing off your kiln and washing machine. Dude, you're no teacher if you have the "look at me" attitude. If you want to teach think it through and break it down. This "bright idea" is unhelpful and doesn't show your skills in a positive way.
