So true, women, especially Black women looked so beautiful 😍😍😍 I wish I can recreate their look...It's like a "sophisticated', "enhanced" but still very natural look....So beautiful...The 1990's are definitely the peak when it comes to make up , especially for Black people... Even though, they didn't have all the shades ...😍😍😍

WOW! This is when 'BRANDY' was about to take over the Entertainment industry and at only 17 years old. She was walking into her 'Season.' Her self-titled Debut album, 'BRANDY' was certified 4x Platinum, She had so many awards already, 'Sittin' Up In My Room' (The single) went Platinum, She landed her own TV series, 'MOESHA', as stated in the video she just celebrated her 17th Birthday a day before, so this was filmed February 12th, 1996, and the single 'Best-Friend' had just went gold (6:11 mark) Moesha hit the air and her fan-base helped the new series become a rating success, 1 year later (97) Another Dream Came True. She became, 'CINDERELLA' alongside her Idol Whitney Houston, over 60 million viewers for ABC, being the 1st African American Princess for Disney, (She Just wanted to meet Whitney. Not only did that happen she was blessed to be in a movie with her. Wow! Inspiring!) The next Year, 1998, As Moesha ended it's 3rd Season, she released (& co-wrote) 'THE BOY IS MINE' duet with Monica which was #1 on billboard for '13' weeks straight, & Then Another #1 Billboard hot 100 Single, 'Have you ever?' Her second Album, 'NEVER-SAY-NEVER' Sold 14 million copies worldwide. Before going into filming 'Season 4 Of Moesha' ( which features the adored episode, 'Moesha Meets Brandy), she starred in, 'I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER', Became A Spokesperson for, 'COVER GIRL & CANDIES SHOES', 1999, Success just kept going with winning her 1st Grammy, TV-Movie 'DOUBLE PLATINUM' With Diana Ross, Began Her 'NEVER- SAY-NEVER' Tour (Although cut short due to an early call back to film Season 5 Of Moesha), However, more Endorsements came with 'DKNY JEANS' and 'UNICEF' Named her as the 1st International spokesperson for Youth. 'MATTEL TOYS' then announced, 'The BRANDY DOLL!' Legendary. Watching this video is just amazing to see what was about to unfold for her. BRANDY NORWOOD, ICON!

The Boy Is Mine was actually number 1 for 12 weeks straight, despite stiff competition. I know Shaina Twain’s “You’re Still the one” was limited on CD singles at the time. Also “The Boy Was Mine” was ALWAYS played, speaking as a then 7 year old! But thanks for the info!!!

@KimberlyRobbins See this is what what happens when you get cocky and rely on ur wit instead of double checking. I knew 12 weeks didn’t sound right lol. But yes it’s DEFINITELY 13. Thanks for the correction. In fact I believe the only other song to specifically spend only 13 weeks at #1 was “End of the Road”

One thing I loved about this show is that they had so many different shades of Black people. The main actors, background actors, special guests. It’s one of the very few Black shows that shows more than just one shade of Black. Also loved that they talked about real issues. It was just a good show

I’m glad Mo mentioned Kim being a singer and all that, I truly believe it was a love and hate relationship between those two. They both were beyond talented singing and acting wise. They both were divas and we all know how that goes. So they had they moments. Plus they were YOUNG. Which is normal for any regular teenager.

This was wonderful and bittersweet to watch, on so many levels. The loss of the talented Lamont Bentley and Yvette Wilson, first, then the fact that you cannot present a program such as "Moesha" in today's social climate of "anything goes" and zero moral fiber or accountability, or negative consequences for poor decision-making... and other levels.. It is so great to see this wholesomeness, this beautiful family and cast, an oasis in the current cesspool of wickedness, profanity, disrespect, moral decay, and hedonism that is so prevalent on TV in 2019. If anyone here takes issue with my characterization of today's 'entertainment' landscape, well... you're part of the problem. G'nite.
