This video explains an expanding rubber stem caster in detail, how it works, and how to properly install these into your tubing or table legs. Expandable Rubber Adapters are extremely easy to install in various tubing sizes. Commercial-grade kitchen prep tables are the most common application for rubber adapter casters. Still, these casters work in many applications and tubing with a wide range of rubber adapter sizes. The rubber adapter works by expanding inside the tubing allowing the caster to fit tight into the legs or tubing on your equipment or table. We offer 8 different sizes ranging from 3/4" , 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-3/16", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", and 1-3/4". These are the most common sizes for most industry-standard inner diameters in equipment tubing or table legs. The round expandable adapters also work great in square tubing legs by expanding, they will fill all gaps for a tight fit. Round adapters work and expand much better than square adapters in square tubing. We do not recommend square expandable adapters and will always recommend round adapters for both round and square tubing.

Just got a stainless steel kitchen table for my pizza oven. It came with no instructions. (Thanks China, not). So thanks for this Jason and thanks KZfaq for helping me find it. It was the maybe the 5th video I've watched. I didn't know about these expanding rubber stem casters but that's what I have.

I’ve the Cheap 6-tier metal rolling cart from Walmart. I’d like to break metal cart down into 6 individual shelves, each with casters. The metal tubing is 3/4 inch diameter. Do U have 3/4 inch caster sleeves? (caster length is 1-1/2 inch. But length isn’t important)

Do you have something that would work with the “VEVOR Stainless Steel Equipment Grill Stand, 36 x 30 x 24 Inches Stainless Table?” It has legs with a near 2 inch diameter, so many reviews complaining that the typical 1.5 diameter stems are too small.

Hi, do you think if you tightened just the swivel bearing raceway of the table (with griddle on top ) would work casters themselves loose? Somebody installed them for me and only tightened that without tightening the hexnut under raceway. Now I can see alittle gap on one side of the caster SBR and the expanding rubber. Do you the Hex definitely needs to be tightened? Thank you

Hi Peter, great question! Yes you can tighten and un-tighten the expandable rubber adapter once it is inserted into the tubing by just turning the swivel raceway. I need to make a real demonstration video as there are a couple different techniques that can be used to do this. Thanks for watching.

@@CasterHQ Thank you for replying. It’s crazy I spent a good amount of money on six new casters , they the table with the grill on it with a pump Jack but now it looks like the casters are angled again and I’m afraid to move the table. I wish I could send you a pic.

i want to add wheels to my table, but it has hallow square legs, not cylindrical tubes, can i use expander adapters for it? the table is from ikea, called påhl

Hello, So from experience we stopped making square expandable adapters becuase they do not spread out properly and would still fall out of the tubing. The spacer in our expanding stem casters ensures the expanding rubber adapter is slightly elevated, filling any gap at the stem's top. This positioning is crucial; it allows the adapter to sit just below the knurled nut, facilitating full threading onto the stem during assembly. What is the amount of play at the bearing raceway ? The tighter the tolerance the less wobble my work branch will have. I have researched almost 15 mo for a solution to the slop that’s designed in ( or allowed ) at the bearing raceway which cases the work bench to move while performing work. I need a min of 2 swivels in order to move the work bench . But it’s the swivel design that’s causing my issue. We can send people to the moon but can’t engineer a bearing raceway with zero tolerance. Frustrating , Se’an 1/15/24

I’m not sure the inner diameter of the tubing on your IKEA legs. We do have a lot of options when it comes to our expanding rubber adapters to choose from. I’m sure we will be able to accommodate you.

The round expanding adapters work better in square tubing compared to any square adapters that are found on the market. This is due to the square adapters not expanding properly and fully inside the tubing in which a round tubing expands and holds much better in square tubing. I recommend just using the round tubing adapters inside your square tubing.
