It’s more than sharp enough for that use already. Shove that forcefully anywhere that there isn’t bone close to the surface, and it’s going in. Too sharp and there’s no plausible deniability.

That very true. Doing "hot-work" with zinc or especially galvanized gives off harmfull fumes.just know your safety precautions. Otherwise I completely agree. This fellow does beautiful work with the minimum tools. Coal foundry, wooden forms (on occas ion), parting powder, the metal, and the "sand". No vacuum, no spinning; he makes it look easy. That's where his experience comes in. I wanted to take up small time casting of rings and stuff. He makes it look feasible.

Maybe graphite powder?(by how it looks and shines over the steel balls) I have the same question too
@bravhart9212
@bravhart9212 Жыл бұрын
@@redsnakeg If I'm not mistaken, the point of putting powder on the sand and item is so the thing being casted isn't stuck in the sand and ruin the cast. Some people used to use tolken powder (is that how the baby powder was spelt?) I think, but it's banned in the U.S. last I checked due to it apparently causing serious health issues to people (so wouldn't use it because of that; but also because since it's a recipe, it's possible that companies may change the ingerediants of it causing dangerous chemical reactions; which is why I would like to try and stick with something safe, simple, and non-changing recipe that you know what's in it). I was wondering a while back as well if flour (the kind you cook with) would work, but don't know if that would be safe or not (have to becarful, since if there's "dust/powder/smoke" particals in the air, it can cause a fire to occur; don't know what it's called, but things like flour and grain corn can throw up it's dust particals in the air that can easily burn up with maybe just a spark, but sadly don't recall all the details on that). I'll have to look into the graphite powder though. Is it safe to use? Safe to breath; it's not going to kaboom on me if it catches fire? Also not sure if I could make an iron/steel mold and pour bronze in it, if that would come out easy or not? (Honestly never casted before, just blacksmithed and did some welding.)
