Castle Combe - Honda RS 125

Bike was geared for our usual slightly worked on barrel but over-geared and not able to rev beyond 12.5k on newly run-in standard barrel, and therefore a massive 4 secs a lap down on pace and on my best lap. Camera shake due to temporary mount. Starting off the back of the grid due to missing previous race.

shame you got baulked by the back marker! I've raced in the same class, and Combe can be a pain if you get stuck behind someone. good ride tho!

awesome ride still with an over geared bike and one back market spoiled the finish well done

Hi Col, yes it just wasn't running right that day, you can hear it at the top end, just doesn't sound quite as it normally would, I guess we just needed to jet it down from what we would use on the usual barrel but we were desperate for finishes for the manx licence, so left well alone. Shame we never managed a lap of the island with the camera on board!

Nice video we’re there 250’s up against your 125,would you say the RS125 had a big advantage over the Yamaha TZ125H in top speed.

The Honda would be a better and quicker bike as Yamaha ceased development of their 125 much earlier and the Honda was then outclassed by the Aprilia. The other bikes in that race were mainly 400 four cylinder, a couple of 450 Aprilia's and a few other oddments

Oil is Castrol 747 at 30:1.

Bike weighs about 71kg and around 40bhp. It is in standard specification.
