Richter game is detected because of the fight at the beginning.

@@forgiveman Richter playthroughs skip the prologue, at least in the NA versions of the game (I think I've seen some versions where the prologue still occurs), so that's not the case. It's pretty obvious at this point the the Death cutscene is a trigger to track Alucard vs. Richter achievements, since the two boss kills he did get went toward the Richter one. I know DB kept going on about the "casual is good" thing, but I really don't think that was the intent. It's entirely possible when this was made that they didn't know that was an issue, and once it was discovered, just didn't feel like figuring out a way around it.

This is actually an example of working as intended. If you skip Death and have the Alucard set still, it is considered cheating and invalidates several achievements because you are trying to cheese them. I disagree with the notion myself personally, but that is how they are set up.

@@LordVysh the fact that it was counting towards Richter achievement instead of Alucard when using death skip shows it clearly breaks something in the code of the tracker. So I wouldn't asume they did it on purpose, as it most likely it's just an error on the code. Now, after finding that error they might have said "nah we will not bother fixing it just play the game glitchless" and that's why they didn't even bother changing the text on the tracker to acknowledge that Death Skip invalidates them. Considering it's a free tool and we are not going to fix it either, I guess there's no point complaining.

Agreed for the most part, I'm not sure I would go so far as incompetence lol. It became pretty obvious that the Death cutscene is a way for the system to differentiate an Alucard vs. Richter playthrough in some background aspect, since Richter never gets that trigger and the first two boss kills went toward the Richter achievement. They probably didn't even realize that was a possible issue until someone did it, and either couldn't figure out how to make it work, or considered the project finished at that point and didn't want to go back to it. Either way, I disagree with the whole "casual is good" narrative; I severely doubt there was any maliciousness involved.

You're not casually meant to be able to do Karasuman before Hippogriff; the intended order is getting Jewel of Open at Library > Hippogriff at Chapel > Leap Stone at Castle Keep > Mist at Colosseum > Bat at Library > Karasuman at Clocktower. There's actually two required bosses between Hippogriff and Karasuman, and with Jewel of Open and Bat you can do Karasuman, Olrox, Scylla, Succubus, and Cerebus > Granfaloon in whatever order. You don't even need to fight Karasuman, you can just go back to Keep from the Chapel side. Doesn't really make any sense to pair those two in an achievement no matter how you slice it.

@YEs69th420 The achievement is called "Guardians of the Keep" because those are the two bosses blocking access to Castle Keep... it makes perfect sense.

@@nickschile4807 It's a completely arbitrary grouping if it's for that reason. From the perspective of someone playing the game casually i.e in the intended way, they'd just be confused by Hippogriff not having an achievement when the three prior bosses did only to learn that it's actually tied to a boss that you fight a decent bit later on. Hell, it confused DB. It's just not how you would go about making achievements. It'd be like having one achievement shared between Slogra & Gaibon and Minotaur & Werewolf; one is a prerequisite to the other. No real reason not to have them just be separate.

He plays the games, but not with the same level as SotN. Maybe for another speedrunner.

Copyright issues with some songs of the game. If he does not do that, the video is blocked/reported.

Unfortunately some bad actors have been copyright claiming some of the background music, so he had to mute the audio in some sections of these videos to get around that and keep the videos monetized.
