Some of those situations arose because you repeatedly put yourself in places where people weren't expecting to see you. I also wasn't impressed by the casual way you contravened bus lanes, and overtook on the approach to zebra crossings. There's just no need for it. Take a chill pill and unwind a little.

When I’ve been to Paris I noticed lots of loud aftermarket exhausts on scooters, which is not the case in London. I’m only joking about 6k pal, will remove it after my first service, which is due in about a week time. Cheers!

Those unexpected funny things are what I like the UK for. Not from an aesthetical point of view (literally lol) but just this anything can happen any time thing and live and let live. And yea: great bike and sound plus nice riding skills. You couldn´t do that over here with those self-opinionated idiots on German roads.

The lane splitting is NOT illegal in the UK. So people please take it easy, his lane splitting was done safely and at lower speeds, he was a safe rider in this video. More countries should allow lane splitting.

Cutting people off when they're merging before you. Riding in the opposite late.. And those little throttle pulls you do trying to intimidate others is very cringy. You ever wondered what the brake on a motorcycle is for?
@dennisloobman80136 жыл бұрын
SeaKey, “That’s the way you have to do it” is a pretty dumb answer. As an ex London with thirty years experience I can tell you that lane splitting is probably the only way to get around London quickly, but accidents happen when you least expect them, and you’re not seeing the dangers. Examples? 0.09 Taxi stops in the middle of the road. You see no danger so you whizz past without even covering your brakes. You CANNOT predict what that driver will do next, one day he’ll suddenly swerve in front of you, and you’ll hit him. 0:18 Another ‘unpredictable’, this time going to the right. Ok, you missed him (again), but your actions suggest you saw no danger. One day he’ll swerve more quickly, and BANG. Next time read the road and expect the worst, he’s not an inconvenience, he’s a THREAT. 1:28 Overtaking on a zebra. This is a BIG no-no that’ll cost you three points if the police see you doing it. You have a legal obligation to stop if the crossing is not clear, instead your speedo momentarily dips to 10 mph as you happily whizz past and your fingers don’t even appear to cover the brakes. What if a child quickly RAN across? HELLO? 2:58 Going too fast past standing traffic is dangerous enough, but a STATIONARY BUS? This is very stupid. You will see the danger one day, but it’ll probably be too late. Busses and lorries create massive BLIND SPOTS for PEDESTRIANS to suddenly pop out of. They’re usually looking the other way because they think they’re safe once they’re through the traffic and that’s why we have those big signs saying “THINK BIKE”, because people DONT! If someone stepped out in front of that bus you’d hit them with your clock saying 30 mph, now go figure. 3:10 Black car stuck in traffic has a ‘potential escape route’ into the side road to the left. A sudden left turn and that car would nail you easily, because you’re going too fast to avoid him. You might win the insurance claim but do you need the injury and aggro? Experienced riders ALWAYS cover the brakes. Riding instructors will tell you not to but they do it themselves in traffic. Why? Because experience will tell you that if you suddenly grab the brakes too hard you’ll lock up the front end. Then you’ll have to choose whether to let go of the brakes and hit the obstruction, or drop the bike and hit it anyway. That’s not much of a choice is it? Covering the brakes means you can SQUEEZE the lever when a danger arises, instead of grabbing it (try this in the rain). Always ride at a speed at which you can stop for something unexpected in front of you (examples blah blah)... A five minute video sees you putting yourself in danger FOUR times, that’s a 1.20 second average. If you carry on riding the way you’ll bend that bike sooner or later, and when you’re on two wheels, it’ll probably hurt. When your accident happens (and it WILL happen) I only hope you hit something hard that has at least four wheels, but you are just as likely to hit something soft, like a cyclist or a pedestrian, or worse still, a child. Now man up, grow up, WISE up and for crying out loud, learn to ride SAFELY.

0:09 - I was actually looking to the right behind the taxi, you can see through windows - it was clear and it stopped for right turn. 0:18 - she started to change lane when I was already overtaking, which I also saw, adjusted my position according to that and warned her with the throttle, if she continued to go right, I still had enough room to go around (unless she turned with 90% angle - which is unreal). 1:28 - this is not overtaking, this called filtering and it is totally legal. There were more danger for me from the lorry if I waited longer. Police would do nothing in this case, if the ped was crossing to opposite direction then fair enough. Do you see what black cab driver did? 2:58 - do you see anyone on the left here 2:56 ? I was doing 10mph, can you see/hear I was anticipating and reduced the speed even more before passing the bus? 3:10 - any of the drivers can do that, and that is danger of filtering, if you are not prepared to take this risk, sit in traffic. In this particular example I had more than enough room to avoid it. I do always cover rear brakes and front one when in heavy traffic with lots of potential peds popping out from nowhere, the bike got ABS as well, but anyway, thanks for your analysis, ride safe and do not worry, I will be fine. No offence, but I think you should maybe review your highway code knowledge after 30 years. Good luck
