I think it’s hilarious that in the 4th game Harstem is complimenting the Terran on how clean his pick up and drop was, not noticing that there *was no* pick up, because he had an entire Medivac full of Marines just idling during the big fight. He only dropped when he noticed. 🤣

@MattMarshallUK I went for Masters 2, and felt vindicated when Harstem picked the same. Admittedly, I don't play. My strategy primarily involves watching the bank and the APM, and watching for good stutter-step to validate the APM. Second, I factor in any obvious flaws in strategy/tactics (ie: bad builds/dumb move commands). Lastly, I adjust my ranking based on the server (Masters 2 in NA ~ Diamond 2 in EU ~ Platinum 2 in Korea). It works fairly well, usually giving me a single digit end score.

As a high-plat player at best, I feel like I have an unfair advantage spotting silvers, golds, and plats. The Diamond 1 threw me; I thought that was Plat 3, maybe plat 1 at best--so I was way off there. The rest of them I was at worst off by 2.

I guessed Diamond 1 for that third game and then Plat 2 for the fourth. The issue with the third and fourth games was the opponents were clearly inferior to the terran. The third game the terran rushed ghosts at like 3:30, no one expects that and is going to win a bunch of games against Protoss who simply aren't expecting it. That alone is going to push him higher. THis was a game it worked. Watch him in a game it doesn't work and he probably is a plat player, but that rush itself is going to get points. The 4th game was the terran taking such a massive lead quickly he looked way ahead. THe problem was he kept getting obliterated during fights until he was so far ahead it didn't matter. Harstem always says rushers are higher than they look because the rush probably works more often than not. Even if that 3rd game player was "really" a plat player, that rush is probably enough to push him a lot higher. That fourth game looked better because the zerg fell behind early and got strangled. Being that far ahead can make anyone look better than they really are.

me 2: S2=0, P1=2, D3=3, M3=7 TOTAL:12 I angry on that last one. All I kept screaming was, "PLAT 3?! FUcking bullshit! That's a smurf, fucking lying sack of shit!" I was thinking at most I'd be off maybe 2 or 3 placements? But plat? His unit comp was shit, but that micro reminded me of the split commands in some of the older RTS games like Aoe2 and Red alert.

Harstem, the D1 terran had his medavic join with his army. Like you know how pros do when they move out before their medavic is complete but they ralley the medavic to army and boost them immediately as they come out of SP. I think it was just a bad timed version of that thing.

Bro, i was legit having a beautiful run with like 2 points but last game i was in the same headspace as harstem and choose masters 2 and had the same reaction when casually explained broke it down. I hated how right he was but i couldnt change my answer.
