@randommontages17126 жыл бұрын
Its easy to tell the cat was being protective rather than territorial because it only went for thr fox when the children were close, you also hear it meow before it went to the fox to because it was concerned. If it was territorial its tail would have been down and not up when the tail is up it shows interest or compassion. Also to add if it was a territorial attack the cat would have chased the fox off its land. If you ever see a cat protect its kittens you will see a similar traits.

I live in the UK and we haven't had a single rabies case since 1902, so foxes are really no threat. You see them on almost every street at night, so the cats obviously interact with them on a daily basis. I've owned a lot of cats in my life, well over 100 in total, and I've never once seen one of my cats get injured by a fox. I've seen them fighting but never once has a fox actually damaged one of my cats. One of my current cats is larger than any fox I've seen in the wild, bigger than some dogs, and the foxes are out right terrified of him. They'll lurk around when I take the dog (and cats) for walks at night, but they always run away scared the second Loki thinks to go after them. Even the smaller cats are never scared of foxes.

Gotta love all these KZfaq wildlife experts that have no idea what a rabid animal even looks like. Not to mention, rabies is virtually nonexistent in Norway.

It’s not smart anyway. They could get bit, it’s a fuckin wild animal. But whatever get bit at your own caution.

hans wurst First of all he says "virtually nonexistent" which translates to "nearly/almost extinct" so you got that one wrong. Second is you don't seem to have a concept of how statistics work. When you a have a large sample size and good measuring methods one can often make assumptions, of course most often not with a 100% certainty. Most people would say "the black death" is extinct even though theres probably a chance that it's still around somewhere. You're unfortunately just another example of people telling others to shut the fuck up without even reading the comments properly...

The cat is the only one with enough brains to know that a wild fox should not be around small children. Let alone teaching a fox that this is a place you can come & get food. And on top of that ..it's a death sentence for the fox. A wild Fox that learns to fear people will live much longer.
@broadbandislife6 жыл бұрын
Foxes know very well people equal food opportunities, which is why you see them in cities nowadays. And because people these days don't kneejerk "wild animal => shoot" that's pretty safe for them. Though, well. Between their intellect, agility and curiosity they sometimes manage to trap themselves in the damnedest places. There's a British volunteer wildlife rescue org whose channel I follow and among the more common kinds of cases they get is "fox stuck somewhere"... bicycle sheds, shopping-mall roofs, one had managed to fall into a small company office's storage room, you name it.
