I have the exact same set, how I made them work is I "stole" a hard core magnet 🧲 from my hubby's tool box. It was in the exact shape of the lil black tool & i placed it behind the tool where the number is it! And bam it worked great. ❤

I was gonna suggest using a stronger magnet behind the decorative magnet. It's kinda like when they use paperclip to make a heart. Idk if you've tried it yet if so, did you make a other video? I'm really interested in seeing if that works better for sure.

I'm thinking the heavy layers also played a role in some looking weaker. It would likely appear way better with one layer of cateye polish over a layer of black polish. ❤

I have the same set of magnets and found they work great. But I use a different cat eye gel which (I think) is better quality gel. I find that the better the quality of gel, the better results.

Will adding madnetic cat eye powder to the ones with poor magnetic properties increase the effect? I too think the brand matters, but ive already purchased a few polishes, which dont work well. I just wanted to know how i can increase its magnetic effect

These gels are meant to be used over a dark base, the magnetic effect will show up a lot more over that :). These magnets just aren't strong enough for gels, you can buy strong neodymium magnet strips. I'm gonna get those and try it out

I agree! But also I feel like since she kept adding layers and layers of the same polish (thicker the polish) that the design magnet wasn't doing its job correctly.

I have these magnets from Temu, I love them. I used a black base and 1 coate of cat eye and it turned out so beautiful.

@@ladycountry68I love these magnets as well.. mine came with all the black plates,a flower with another magnet on the other end, an S magnet, bar and a pencil looking one that has kind of a fine point tip for like squiggles or doodles.. I did 420 nails.. I got mine from Amazon for 9.99

I love mine..I love the little stick with the fine point I made 420 nails (super fun to doodle with).. and you mentioned the heart magnet i have tiny nails and it doesn't look that big on my nails which is weird bc my friend used it on her nails and it made a bigger heart on hers (they are wider and longer).. someone with shorties would get a full heart as well.. i suck at nail art (not a tech) so I have loved these for my cat eye gels..

I just purchased a set of magnetic gel nail polish that was the base coat, glossy and matte top coat, and both pink and blue magnetic colors along with the black color for the background. Modelones and all of it was $10 on Amazon. Plus it came with a magnetic tool too

I have found that all of these magnets (or any magnet) will be more magnetic if you first put them in the freezer for about half an hour, (this is to distort and rearrange the molecules in the magnet) then get a super strong magnet, one that is 100% stronger than the original nail art cat eye magnets etc...a huge Warehouse type (The bigger the better in my opinion) industrial magnet works great this way you can stick them all at once, instead of individually to a smaller magnet (placed cat eye magnet on the better stronger magnet) it makes my cat eye magnets work better on my cat eye polish...!

Gotta say ive used these magnets on normal nail polish as well as gel. Basicaly they were crap on both. Whether gel or polish the particle fillings within should be drawn to the magnet if the the magnet is strong enough. The magnets should be strong enough to easily pull the filings through gel. If not then they must be pretty bloody weak. Also the more complicated the design on the pattern the less defined the end result. This is because a coat of polish only has so much filings in it. If the magnets design has lots of elements to it, like lots of lines, then the filings have to spread themselves out more thinly. That is why the original magnet, the cats eye with just one strong line, works so well and is such a good effect!

I bought no 3 and yes, it's weak. U have to hold it so close to the nail that I often touch it. The paper on the magnet is also not quite in the right place☹ I was looking forward to it as well, BUT the pen can be pretty cool. I drew my own heart design instead and drew leaves on my green cat-eye polish. Can't figure out how to paste the pic I took. Otherwise I'd show u. Lol

Its probably all those layers of polish you had on! I bet if you only did it w/ two layers like the manufacturer stated is the ideal amount, it will work much better! Just like if you were painting a house..It won't work well with a LOT of layers on

I just bought a magnetic and silver magnetic polish at a supply house. When I put a set of nails on myself, more than two coats dulled the outcome. One thick coat was strong. Two coats was less and the particles were more dispersed. Must be a chemical thing. A strong magnet and one or two thick coats produce a more precise pattern. Amazing though especially the metal flower magnets..

Ok so is curing the problem because they are saying to cure the first layer and dont cure the second and then use magnet. I wonder if you attach a magnet to the magnet does it make it stronger.

The reason that the designs did not look as they were supposed to is because she was supposed to use them in conjunction with the magnetic wand not individually by themselves

Thank you for posting this. I just ordered these and could not get the heart to work, nothing showed up. So I took the paper off thinking I was doing it wrong, still nothing. I messaged the seller and asked if the paper was supposed to be on or off and haven't heard anything back, so I just used my regular magnet. I should have watched this before I tried it. I probably ordered some duds but will give them a second chance.

My heart worked all works if u use black first. The first coat being magnetic dulls all the magnetic polishes. I've tried both ways a solid black works just like it says for the Magnets.

I've been trying to find where to buy the best magnets for my magnetic polish.. I really want as much variation as possible and love the idea of this set but I'm certain that the majority of the ones out there are too weak to have great results. Do you have any recommendations? Because the same amount of magnetic polish is being spread out over the full nail in a pattern it won’t be like just the standard cat eye. Try the base colour as black.

you want to use it when the color magnet polish is still wet, right before you cure it.

Thanks for the review of the magnets. I use regular magnetic indie polishes. Tend to lay one coat then magnetise for 30secs, lay a second coat again magnetise for 30secs, top coat and magnetise again. I’m a two coated girl but if you’re a 3 coater do the same. I’m going to buy these magnets and see how I fare. May the nail gods be on my side lol 😂

You can “charge” these to make them stronger by rubbing them on A super strong magnet. Once they start weakening, just reactivate them.

Wish I would have seen this before I bought mine. I tried everyone of them and couldn't get anything to work.I tried to return them and never got a response from the vendor. So I'm stuck with them. If somebody can figure out a way to make them work, please let me know.

You must angle them slightly and use the resting clip at the top. I use cheap magnet gel and it’s amazing its called Born Pretty in plastic jar not the bottles. Try video again with a different gel and slant to the side…for real

These magnets were originally made for magnetic lacquer not gel. The work great with the lacquer.

Yeah, they were cheep but still not worth the money in the end for me. I was told they work better for regular polish than gel but I only have gel. I'm thinking about giving them away to someone with the regular polish. Thanks so much for watching!

the pen is there to prefect the design patterns on the magnets because their not that strong. They work great.

Shes not "adding" more she's moving around the 1st design. I always do that when I dnt like the shape or I've lost the magnet glitter lol..

The polish is UV activated at wont dry until out under a light. She was simply demonstrating all the different templates and one you find one you like, you put the mail under a UB LIGHT then the polish dries and can’t be changes again. It is only one layer of polish.

For those commenting and saying they’re weak, you’re supposed to use a base of black or another colour under cat eye polishes so it’s not working for that reason.
