when my dogie became ill in the last months of his life my cat wold lie next to him and lick his head , she comforted him until the last moment of his life , he died suddenly one night , after his death the cat would hiss every time we tried to take the dogs things away from where he left them , this continued for a couple of months and she would go and sit next to where we buried him on the back yard , she still does it sometimes even though its been 8 years since my dog died.

Yes. My cat, Maggie, knew when my brother's dog, Max, was nearing his death. Her behavior toward him changed (they were not friends), and she behaved more comforting toward him.

Animals definitely know when there's something wrong, long before we do. Our cat used to climb into our pug's bed, and mind him carefully, when he was ill. We always knew he was in trouble, by her behaviour, long before he showed symptoms.

Our Kevin is so aware of his family and is happiest when we are all together. He LOVES it when everyone is in the same spot. He’s absolutely aware and makes his rounds to check that everyone is home each night. Such a wonderful family member!

It does seem to happen that way when the more nurturing animal was young at the same time thereabouts or earlier. I have anecdotal evidence of this but I’m not aware of any studies to support it since it is not my field.

@@A-Dubs398 It is natural because the species they happen to be are incredibly socially based, especially dogs. They naturally see the people they live/grow up with as the pack or pride, even if it's a different species like a dog or cat. Hence why dogs and cats see humans they grow up with or are raised by as family, while they don't see others as it.

It is so cute to watch little puppies that are intimidated by this “big” cat and sees them as the one in charge…..and then this little puppy grows to a big dog. But yet he. Still see this cat as the one in charge. 😂😂❤️

This 'awwwwww!' moment is intense. This is proof positive that interspecious compassion exists in this world. Seizure disorder is serious and to see this level of natural support is impressive. I expected it to be the other way around - the dog supporting the cat. But it wasn't. And that's refreshing to see. Nicely done and I hope for more videos like this.

She could have meant CBD which is herbal and works extremely well for seizures, a lot of people consider that option. She might have omitted naming it to avoid politicizing a cute animal, as it is controversial.

It's a chemical derived from a plant for sure, but if that's how we define a herbal remedy than I think that'd also technically make morphine a herbal remedy as well... I dunno, CBD seems like an actually rather effective medicine according to a lot of medical trails I've skimmed through, so I don't think I'd throw it into the "crappy home remedies" category. Homeopathic medicine on the other hand...

Omg, they both look like my Princess the GS and my tuxedo cat Screamer. Screamer ruled the roost and they were the best of buds. In fact they both passed away within 2 weeks of each other. Thank God they had long lives with me and my late husband. Love and miss all of you.

Watching all these Dodo vids makes me miss my babies terribly. Its been a year since I lost my last dog and it's very quiet and lonely without them. I find myself lost sometimes because I always had something to do whether I was washing faces or going for walks, snuggling up with them on the couch. Appreciate them while you have them. Sorry for the bummer comment but I feel it double as bad since all this Covid 19 stuff started. Stay safe people and love your fur babies!

That relationship is really special. Cats are intuitive so sure the cat knew the dog was not well & kinda mothered. Baron is such a mellow, unconditionally loving dog so both furrbabies just care for each other. Way I see it. It was 2018, but hope they are still great buddies! Thankyou for the video.🐶🐱🤗💕❤🙏🙏

Watching this I was like uh...dogs and cats getting along is more likely to happen then two cats getting along haha. My dog was best friends with all four of our cats and all the strays we had over the years.

thalonelygirl I can...I was one. I didn’t hate cats (I love all animals), I just preferred dogs so much more. Then my daughter got a cat, my grandkitty, who I frequently babysit when she travels. I have fallen in love with that cat and found that I like cats, in general so much more now.

I have a dog and a cat that love each other. The cat was rescued from the streets and the dog was adopted from the Humane Society of TB. My boys helped me to get through terrible grieving when my hubby passed away 5 years ago.I’m so thankful to have them in my life!
