Summer of 1975/76 I was an OG valley girl. I smoked my 1st joint with a boy from across the street. Mark was cute, long brown hair and a great guitar player. We didn't hang out much, I was more friends with his younger brother. on another hot sunny day we were sitting on his wall, he grabbed his guitar and played/sang me this song as I danced around singing the parts I knew, just being me and Mark just being Mark. After he finished he smiled and said I'm going to miss you....I'm leaving for college soon. I was sad but happy for him. We hugged said goodbye and I never saw him again. It was just a frozen moment in time that was pure and genuine and I will never forget that song, the words he sang for me.

It’s funny how some moments seem frozen in time, like this one is for you. I wonder if it’s because we spend so much time thinking about the present or the future, or what others are thinking about us. To have a moment when we can simply be in the present and enjoy life is too rare in our culture, and something all the money in the world can’t buy. And to have the cute boy from across the street play his guitar and sing a great song to you! Then disappear from your life, never to grow old or fat or bald in your mind. Thanks for sharing this special memory. Your description was very well written.

@@terri2494 I have great memories. Thank you for the compliment. I hope to someday write a book, maybe of short stories of my many adventures. The effect this frozen moment as described by me had on you is exactly what I am trying to do. Art produces a feeling. So I take my life and paint a picture in time, or a wonderful feeling you forgot to remember. I want to remind people how precious every encounter we have is. For those who didn't/couldn't experience these things I hope can or will feel, even picture the moment. Thanks again.

@@laurajohnson2163 I thought I recognized a writer at heart! I just turned sixty and am still hoping to get back to writing consistently. I ended up with chronic fatigue syndrome in my twenties and between the lethargy and the brain fog I had to put my dreams on hold. In recent years I’ve been able to occasionally write bits and pieces, in fits and spurts. So much harder than most people realize. I wish you well in your writing endeavors. These reaction videos have brought back a lot of good memories for me too.

@@MrSonicjew Yes good music, art whatever is just that and yes faith in God does not have anything to do with it. However it is God who has given you your gifts from before birth. What I meant by - coming from a Greek who respects all faiths - was in reference to Cat Steven's change of faith from Greek Orthodox to Muslim. For some reason he could not find what he was looking for in the religion that was stamped on his forehead from birth. But no matter - he is truly a peace man and loves the human race and wants only that for the world. And I appreciate that you who have no faith respect the ones that do. You have a good day now.

We do not know where the road takes us. I also read about his early life as a pop star. But look at him now. Some of us are joined together. For we take many roads. On the road to find to find our place but we are all connected in some way. At the moment I cry for humanity. All the people that have died. We are all human beings. Our world is in chaos. Believe. I love going to older songs and hearing about everyone's stories with them. It makes me love music so much more knowing the schange it can have on people. Especially shout out to the parents out there who share this eith your kids.

Yes, he was good looking. I'm saying this as a 100% hetero male. No sexual fantasies about him whatsoever, but damn he had good luck with his genes I'd say. As a teenager I looked similar to him as a teenager or young man, but then we started to diverge unfortunately. :D

Reminiscing.... One of my moms favorite artists/ favorite songs.... she was a beautiful smart woman, got sucked up into the 60's 70's thing... died too young but now having an appreciation for this artist who she loved.....speaks to my heart and soul! Love you and forgive you mom! Hopefully mine will one day too!

I shared this with my love and it brought us so close together. To know we both love Cat Stevens you feel something in your heart that knows you are good people.
I had a cat Stevens tape that I listened on my walkman for my first plane ride. Such uplifting music. Especially Morning has broken. It was a really beautiful experience.

So genuine and sweet. Teaching with love even then. You didn't know what would come for you I didn't know what would come for me. But listening I am still trying with my smile.

For those who were around when he first came on scene his music was so popular and like all things it became about religion. What's ridiculous is that people claim to know God but yet use God as a means to their ends...to persecute...to dishonor..to judge and finally to kill. If you knew one thing about this person he wasn't about anything but trying to find and serve his God...the God over us all. There are fans of this man who are grateful that he existed and left some of the best music.

I would like you to revisit these posts you made about him now in August 2021. Do you see yet or are you still blind?Just wondering. All the music I have listened and grown up on have hidden agendas and meanings now. That is if you truly have opened your eyes to see and understand. These people were worshipped and still are like God to some of you....They are not GOD believe me. Just for the record I am heartbroken to know now that they weren't using their music for the good of Humanity!Pretty much they used us to further the evil in our world because we liked them and now they laugh at us how dumb we were. But I don't don't think or expect you too understand what I am saying.Rewatch the video and all the pictures it tells on him severely.
