The BMW F800S has non adjustable forks. So how do you adjust them? The shock is non serviceable. So how do you service it? Dave knows, of course.

15W fork oil - roger that. Volume the same as standard? Rider weight = 70kgs I've a 2007 F800S that needs some love. No history on the fork so am about to change the oil. No seal leaks apparent. Road riding only.

15w or 20w oil based on your speed and skills. Yes, same volume as stock.

Perfect,i have an F800st and i want to put on the progressive ohllins springs and SAE 15 Oil on it, lets see if improves the capacitiy of sustain the suspension when breaking hard ... in the front side.

@@wirenut3020 I just changed the oil and stayed with original spring, put an O ring that increses the pre-charge of the spring and the suspension its working so much better now... its harder but not too much, and it works so good on hard breaking. I think its a must.

Hello sir, maybe you can give some guidance. I have put KTech front cartridges with new springs in my 800 triumph tiger adventure bike. I ride the bike off road and pretty aggressive. Front stock suspension was bottomed out pretty much all the time. The new suspension upgrade no more bottoming out, it's perfect! But now when front wheel leaves the ground it feels like it's dropping hard and bottoming the opposite direction. Is this a preload issue or rebound? Cartridges allow for compression, rebound and preload

I have not seen a kit for this bike to know if there are top out springs in the cartridges? The extension and clunk would be the top out springs being compressed very quickly. For a safety check, put the bike on the center stand and loosen the fork caps to make sure they are still attached to the rods. If all is well there, I would contact K-Tech for information on top our springs in the kit.

Hi Dave, love your videos and I wonder what I should have my bike setup as. The reason I ask is its a 2000 Honda Goldwing Gl1500 with no front fork adjustment at all, and adjustable air shocks on the rear. I have lowered the front forks by 10mm in the triple clamp. This was to make the bike a little lower and easier to handle; only when stopped. I appreciate this is nothing like a sports bike on track day, but would you have any rcommendations for such a road bike? Many thanks. Colin

Hi Colin. Thanks for the kind words! Every motorcycle is the same process with geometry, suspension and tire pressures. You've changed the front for stability and that will load the front more so you should try 2-4psi more than current cold pressure. For the rear, know what maximum and minimum pressures are for the air shocks. Start with minimum and maximum, then 50% 0f the way. You will feel what side is best for you +/- 50% and then work in increments to find your pressure for solo and then 2 up/loaded etc.

I forgot to add, I asked given your expertise, due to mine of mis-information out there - and its obvious its wrong most of the time. I find your vids fasinating and the fact that everyone states what a difference you make to the handling of their bikes. This made me dare to beg the question given I ride an "old mans" bike 🙂 I followed your advice some time ago on lever adjustments etc. Made a big difference to my ride. So many thanks to all the work it must take you to put this out there. Much appreciated!!

Hey Dave I have a question you can hopefully help me with I just bought a 2023 Suzuki GSX-R600 and I notice at low speeds say first gear going over very minimal rough parking lots or small curbs the front of the bike makes a noise like something is loose or could it be suspension issue it’s fully adjustable could it be bottoming out or bouncing back up too quick and hitting causing the clunk any help or input would be great I took to dealer they re torqued everything or so they say they also say this is normal at low speeds and small bumps the bike seems to perform great otherwise

1. Cable tie to see how much fork travel you use to assess if you are close to bottom out or the opposite. 2. Hold the front brake on and move the bike forward and backward to see if you can hear something. That is normally the brake pads moving in the caliper via free play. 3. Check the rotor buttons to see if there is excessive free play. 4. See if the head bearings are loose.

sir i have a question if you are able to give any advice at all, i ride a mt07 and about 6ft tall, been riding for about 6 months, after about an hour my left thigh starts to sting quite bad, as if you've left something heavy on your lap for a while. Any idea whats going on here or what I can do to improve the situation?

1. Take a photograph of you sitting on the bike from the front and rear. See if your arm angles are different from shoulder to the bar. 2. Take a photograph of your legs on each side of the bike to check the knee angle. 3. Put your foot under the shifter and pull it to the top of the stroke and see what your ankle angle is. 4. Watch this video to see what you can improve: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ap2JepeVpt2zeYE.html. My guess is that you need 25-35mm of seat foam added to the OEM seat as your knee angle is too acute, shifter is too high and bars are slightly offset for your body (bars do not need to be centered - I center the human first).

@@catalystreactionsbw Subscribed. Bought a 2022 KTM 390 Duke. 5'10" and could not touch the ground. I check the rear shock and it was set to 4 or 5 preload. Backed it off to Min (out of 10 possible) and I could touch the ground almost flat footed. Handles like butter but no bottoming out and really fun to ride at 6/10ths running it in still. @@theaustralianconundrum I was ion the same position - rode from the mid 70's to 90's and didn't change a thing other than fork oil as my dad told me to. Maturity and critical or contrary thinking started me on this journey so thanks for having a go and rolling your sleeves up.
