For reference, I accidently had the wrong setting on my recorder which is suppose to NOT record the music. Well, I accidently included the same song on the entire video while I was jamming. The game was too interesting not to include so you get to deal with it!
Live ranked run series. Good energy, good games, crazy plays... Let's see what happens.

DandyCrew! Have a wonderful weekend. I made a mistake on my screen recorder and accidently included the music I was listening to and it happens to be one particular song, Forevermore by Roosevelt. I feel like the road player getting a city is a really lethal situation that people downplay

yop'ing for a settle is a mistake there imo. You're settle city away from winning and have easy rolls for settles, you need to keep if for a city. In each of the turns you pulled knights you could have citied with a yop. Of course, you got army in the end, but you're more likely to win if you save the yop for a city i think

I remember this one game where I plowed to a spot I absolutely needed, and the guy I plowed blew a gasket. He literally waited out the timer on every turn while swearing at us for the entire hour the game lasted. Worst part is, he ended up buying 4 VPs and winning in the end despite whining all game that he lost on turn 1. Didn't play Colonist for 3 months after that.

I was worried that black was lying at the end and had the knight but was trying to get the other players to give him road and take it away from you, and then he would win.

This win is very bitter sweet from my perspective. If I were in your shoes and won this my enjoyment of the win would be negated by the table talk. One of my favorite parts of colonist is that generally the negative table talk goes down a bit but then some tables have this. That’s one of the things I’ve got to get better at as a player is letting table talk affect my enjoyment overall

Thank you for posting Dandy. I am under a lot of stress right now, as a caretaker for my partner and a professional in a demanding role. Even if it's just for 30 min, taking a break in the evening to drink a beer and watch you crush a game like this is therapeutic. You're so competent and level headed. Even if it's just Catan at the end of the day, I admire your attitude and dedication. In a weird way it gives me the strength to wake up every morning and keep trying my best 💪

Commentary Dandy = fun and light hearted. Chat Dandy = comes off as rude and patronizing. Not sure if you are aware. The constant 'dudes' and blaming others for doing the same thing you do "trading for your game" is something you might want to look at.

That’s just how Catan chat is. Passive aggressiveness works more often than not in these kinds of ranked games. When playing with newer players that tend to play more emotionally, then yeah the best strat is to sound nice while screwing them over. It’s just more direct online

at 25 minutes, why not save the yop for ore for a city? Isn't that much harder for you to roll naturally than the settle?

Why didn't he go 5612 to wheat port? Seems like he wasn't expecting the 6-11-12 to be open so it wasn't for that, even though that worked out. Just curious what his thought process was.

ive been learning catan through your videos and some of the jargon is lost on me. ive learned some things, like how mono=monopoly but other stuff is obtuse. if you explained some of that it would be helpful

Some of the jargon I wasn't familiar with in the beginning but picked up over time were things like: plow - cutting someone off or settling, resulting in the other player not being able to settle or extend. yop - year of plenty dev card that gives you 2 cards nn/non knight - a downed dev not being played in a turn when you are blocked. have to assume it's a vp or at the least a mono. rb - road builder pop - buy a dev card pop for the win - buying a dev card with the intention it to be a vp and getting you to 10
