This young patient sustained penetrating ocular trauma which resulted in perforation of the cornea as well as the lens capsule. There is now opacification of the soft lens cortex and the patient is unable to see. The challenge in this case is determining the extent of the injury and then removing the cataract, inspecting for other damage, and then placing the IOL. What would be your approach in this tough case?
