Our guest surgeon went from a beginner to an expert surgeon over the course of 1000 cataract cases and you can certainly do the same. We have covered the topic of the learning curve many times and most surgeons find that in retrospect, it requires about 500 cases to reach half-way up this steep curve. At case 1000 a cataract surgeon should have good incisions and a good rhexis (it's your signature that you leave on every case) and an efficient way of dividing the nucleus (horizontal chop in this case).
