Long time surf fisherman from South Carolina here. I just found your channel and have really enjoyed it so far ! I am NOT a fan of fighting big rays but I do enjoy a shark battle. I have found that a 6-10 inch leader of light kingfish wire or the flexible wire that you can tie knots with greatly increases your catch rate with sharks. It doesn't prevent all the cutoffs but does help a lot if you are looking for a good tussle. Keep it up man, great stuff !

I grew up with family all going together fishing the same Alabama shores and Pensacola area. With Mom being born and raised in myrtle grove Florida. Lots of great memories down there. I often go down rabbit holes on KZfaq (see MrBallen) and forget to watch these fishing videos for a while. Every time I come back, I instantly remember how much I love this content and how bad it makes me want to go fishing. My brother and fished from the surf for years in South Carolina and Florida and always had fun even when we were skunked.

This video just came across my feed. I started watching your videos 'cause of your excitement & love for the sport. Gotta say your wife isn't too bad with the fishing rod either.
