As mentioned below all big Pike are Female and they are different fish, I have checked the markings. The last was a re-capture. Glad to see you have a half decent size net as well.

Lovely fish and a great video. By the way, all big Pike are female. Apparently, male Pike rarely grow much above 9 or 10 lbs.

New to fishing (since July last year) and love it. KZfaqd pike fishing and this video came up. Coincidentally I live near the river Ouse and my club has some of the river available to fish on. I wonder if these waters are the same… Great video and very helpful!👍

Down here in Australia the Paternoster is the most popular rig for surf beach fishing, I use it all the time, though we don't use the float on top. Very good for everything from Smelt Whiting to medium size sharks if you make it out of wire. The way we make it down here is slightly different though, our Paternoster is a fixed bottom section made up of a sinker loop on the bottom, two dropper loops leading to hooks above it then finally a swivel on the top leading to the mainline. It's usually made out of heavy mono or fluro, but we'll make the same style as your but out of heavier wire if chasing sharks. Congrats on the two big Pike, they're beautiful fish!

Nice fish buddy...keep trying ..you will get a big one...I live in Canada...on March 5 I landed a 30 plus pound 51.75 inch (131cm) pike...broke 30 year record for length for northern pike in my province ..40 years of fishing...my biggest...you can check it out on you tube tilted "Gigantic nothern pike March 2022"...DO NOT WATCH WITH KIDS IN ROOM...sorry for language in vid...we were losing our minds...scale at end of vid was rusted and bottomed out at 23.5 lbs....it goes no further....fish was mid 30's...good luck to you...you have some skill so your trophy is coming...from my igloo on the mountain...D.
