Күн бұрынMy good buddy Chris Macaluso got his hands on a boat that's got more years on it than Tom Brady's career, and this week, I hopped aboard with him to give it a shakedown cruise.
Of course we brought rods -- because this is South Louisiana and we're not psychopaths.
We figured we could bump into some fish somewhere, and sure enough, we did. They were biting almost every cast, feasting on shrimp being funneled through a small canal.

I always love C Mac's commentary - while usually about the fishing and habitat - this one cracked me up! Loved to see those slot reds making a comeback and the bass were a really nice bonus. Looked like a blast. Thanks for sharing.

Been burning up the reds west and east of the Atchafalaya River. 16-22” average with a bull in between. Tons of shrimp. Glad to see y’all passing a good time.

Might check with a few bass anglers for verification but a "drop shot rig" has the hook positioned directly on the main line in a way that the hook point is always upward. It's not on a dropper as you have it in this video and in your previous pool video. Basically, you're fishing a standard double hook or double lure rig. The drop shot can be fished horizontally but mostly it's a vertical presentation where the plastic lure of choice is shaken while the weight is almost always in contact with the bottom. The goal is to give the bait as much movement as possible in place without moving the sinker. I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for your efforts.

Great vid as always. So glad to see the bass. Like most, I have a great concern for the bass population with the high salinity. Also great to see the slot reds. They have been scarce as well.

I totally agree with the limbo slice being a good color at depth. Can’t figure out why but it’s a killer deeper than 10’.

I just got home from there went and hit it for a couple hours this morning. Got there later than I wanted. Water really wasn’t moving much found a couple small Whiteys decided to pack it up obviously overcast waiting for the rain but the water was slick as glass.
