I love that you took us with you. Some of us have never nor will never go crabbing. I may love it even more that you threw the regulation crabs back as a surprise to us all. Most people would likely take them anyway and at least give them away; you showed a spirit of having done something purely for the experience of having done it. I love that!

I know we were all pulling with you when you were bringing in your pot! This brings back so many childhood memories of my grandfather. We used to go crabbing in the Chesapeake Bay. So many good memories came to mind just with the sound of the water hitting the boat and the sound of the motor. We’ve never caught any ourselves, but we absolutely love getting a couple live ones from our local fish shop and making them a date night dinner on Friday nights! When you were struggling with that pot I was leaning back in my chair and making faves like I was pulling it in!! Josh looked so calm and comfortable with the boat. I enjoy crabbing on the east coast in NJ and MD!!!

Omg, I died when you said we don’t like seafood and tossed them back! Crab Cippino!!! I paid well over $30 for one crab at Christmas because our Dungeness crab season was cut short due to whale migration.

I am a spoiled Western Washington gal who only eats Dungeness crabs I was out of state for a few years without any seafood from our cold waters. This was so much fun to watch and experience with you. This is something I will never try to do, but I’m so happy I could watch you do it. At the end I laughed and thought, “I wouldn’t ever be able to go crabbing. But if I did, I would never would throw them back because I’d be so excited to eat them.” It’s funny that you are from PNW and don’t like seafood. I spent my whole life living in Nebraska and I crave real seafood all the time. 😅

My grandmother would have a pot boiling back at the camper and we’d have deviled crab for supper. One of my most favorite dishes.
