Pigeons are one of the earliest domesticated animals. Then we kinda just stopped using them and now they're feral.

They used to be "messagers" by passing messages to people from far distant. Since now we have post mail, planes, etc, pigeons have become ferals.

@@thegoatarmy6699 nah those were carrier pigeons which are extinct. we apparently commercialized eating them in the early 1900s when their population was unsustainable.

@@orektez Passenger pigeons were native wild pigeons, those are the ones that went extinct. Pigeons used as messengers were the same species as the regular pigeons you see in cities. In any case, they weren't brought over specifically to be messengers. The pigeon was primarily brought over to be food to begin with.

That was the NYC parks enforcement patrol. I can tell because the car was green and white while the NYPD has blue and white cars. They are more like meter maids than cops or security guards. Could argue the same thing with roaches and rats and mice, but you would still call the exterminator on all three the moment they're in or around your house. People are biased on what animals they want to protect I wish they'd at least have some consistency.

Most people don't know that pigeons are actually domesticated birds! They used to be extremely common as pets, but humans pretty much abandoned them. That's why they're not really scared of people and why they're so bad at building nests.

Nope, I concur, I lived in Newark, New Jersey for a number of years and they were common at Broad Street Station, even bought a bag of seed every now and then to feed them. The white ones (and those that have lot of white in their plumage) are the prettiest to me. You can see in this video the second one held and maybe one or two more. Offspring of white doves perhaps?

Pigeons are such sweet and sociable birds so please focus on the cute little feathered creatures friendly and easy-going personality first rather than the colours they are! :)

@@erox2717 They're invasive and aren't supposed to be there. They're a huge health issue do to fecal matter, and their chances of survival are only high due to urban areas. It's extremely rare to find rock pigeons in nature because they don't have the natural instincts to survive.

Pretty sure he could've actually killed them by doing that. One small mistake and he could've crushed it. Damage the wings by accident, can't fly it dies. The thing was probably in shock.

@@j4ck442 They usually don't give much reaction unless they know they can escape. Pigeons caught by predators usually don't struggle much. And when a bird goes into shock it typically becomes somewhat unresponsive. In short, those birds were probably terrified and very much could have died. They will remember that moment for years.

@@ThatCrazyPigeonGuyyou’re right the birds will go to school the next day and make history. Then in a few years there will be a war for independence with George washingbird leading the charge. Once they gain their freedom they will suffer their biggest issue yet, female pigeon rights. For the male pigeons won’t give up their rights so easily, stay tuned for next week!

fun fact, i can mimic pigeons! one time, while my family was visiting my dad in germany (deployed for military), i was about 5 years old. I learned how to call pigeons! apparently, i got so good at it, a crowd of people gathered because there was a flock of pigeons all around me. 😂😂😂😂 I loved chasing them too! And, did you know theres a difference between the call of a German rock pigeon and an American rock pigeon? I can explain in another comment, but i also posted my first KZfaq short, and it’s about the difference in their calls!

I'm no expert but it feels like most people just started using the word instead of "impulses" as if they were the same thing. Intrusive thoughts are in my mind more like when you get a thought that you don't really want.. I don't really wanna make any examples tho xD but they're more unpleasant while impulses might just be a bit childish, impolite or reckless. Gonna google it to make sure 👀 Yes, I was right 😌 the examples Google gave me were stuff like "intrusive violent thoughts", or "intrusive sexual thoughts" and often repeating with little control of stopping them. They can also be traumatic memories.

Can confirm that these pigeons just do not care about humans most of the time. They just walk away. Meanwhile birds somewhere else will freak out if you even breathe.

I feel like this guy both likes but totally disrespects animals. He gives very little regard to their stress levels from his actions in his videos. His eel pit is cool, but he literally said he doesn't mind eating what he puts in there.
