That's a Bichir and they do well with low lighting, sandy bottoms and décor such as smooth rocks and driftwood. If they are provided plenty of space and hiding areas they are prone to becoming very friendly and gregarious fish. It is important to consider carefully what species of Bichir may be best for your aquarium.They usually do well with larger fish, so think Oscars, Blood Parrots, Flowerhorns, large Barbs, Knifefish, medium and large Catfish, and large peaceful African Cichlids. Bichirs are quite slow-moving, so can have some problems with fast active tank mates stealing their food.

I don't know anything about fish, don't even like them that much but there's something about your videos. For some reason I find them so freaking relaxing and fascinating. I always watch them after work.

Bichir is a pretty aggressive feeder, it will attack everything it can fit in its mouth, its tankmates should be at least half the size of an bichir. It wasn't the best idea to put it in your aquarium with plenty of smaller fish.

How lucky you are to have found the Dragonfish! (Senegalese Bichir). I have been looking for one, I had purchased one at a local WalMart (of all places). They really aren't commonly found! But, I love ALL things dragon, so - cool! I'm getting ready to pay like $150 to have one shipped to me through a wholesaler. Lucky you!

The bichir should be named Thorn, Celocanth (a prehistoric armored fish), Flicker (for their orange tail, Prickle (for obvious reasons), or Dragonflame (for their firery colored tail and draconian features)

Bichers are sooo cool but be careful! They are escape artists! The one I had managed to get through the tiniest gap in my aquarium hood and ended up on my floor!

I think Bobby should develope a cartoon series for kids to educate them on what fish are, how to identify the fish in the area, how to catch and release them safely or show how to own it properly, also show variety of fish/shellfish. This channel is like a personal Discovery Channel. Dude, you're so young! Share the knowledge to kiddos who watch YOU and want to follow your steps in the mud.

Be carefull with the cory’s, if the Bichir, Oscar or Red tail try to swallow them they can expand their spiny fins wich make the predatory fish choke on them.
