Awesome video, love your array of fish. The macaw is beautiful! I've just started to catch my own native fish to. Have some crimson spots and gudgeons would love to get some blue eyes and empire gudgeons

Thankyou so much! The blue eye can be tough to find sometimes! They seem to avoid super clear water from what I have found! If you haven't seen it already I have a video catching blue eye!

@TheNanoNerdz so far, definitely. Some fish keepers/breeders love to see the natural habitats and collecting type videos. They aren't always spectacular immaculate environments, but they are real. And real on KZfaq, or the internet in general, is difficult to find. 😉

I've got the same problem with those Bunnings racks. I'm going to build my own as have a number of different tank sizes and can custom it to those.

We ended up using it for tools in the shed! Was terrible as a fish stand hahaha that's definitely the way to go!

Great vid guys! I've used marine or form ply boards in the past for shelving in those Pinnacle racks from Bunnings - much better load bearing capacity. Form ply is great in particular as it doesn't warp when it gets a bit wet...
@TheNanoNerdz5 ай бұрын
Thankyou so much! That's the plan! Luckily I work at a 2 pack kitchen paintshop! We have a panel saw just have to grab some form ply! Sounds like the go! As I do wild water changes haha

Great vid mate. When you’re adding your new fish you should add the aquarium water slowly into the bag of your new fish not just let them float for the temp. Keep up the good work. Cheers

This guy must really love mosquitoes if he really hates mosquito fish like wtf kinda reason is that to kill it it’s a mosquito fish it’s gona do you a good service of keep the mosquito population down !
@isaiahgarcia55635 ай бұрын
Don’t get me wrong I get there invasive but invasive don’t always mean that they are destructive and I have nothing against you mate fact I rather enjoyed the video best of luck to you mate
@TheNanoNerdz5 ай бұрын
Cheers for the comment dude! Nah I fully understand what you mean! It's not the mosquito fish's fault that it's here and they should be dealt with properly... Its the breeding side of things we're the natives cop it! Most fish fry eat mosquito larvae and are just as good at is as the mosquito fish. It's kinda like the cane toad/beetle problem... the government introduce a pest thinking it will benefit people and it just 619s our native lads from the top rope
@isaiahgarcia55635 ай бұрын
@@TheNanoNerdz right on mate I totally understand as well I really did not know that about fish larve and I feel as tho I should have lol it’s not an uncommon thing for fish fry to grow up in I suppose
@TheNanoNerdz5 ай бұрын
Your right on! Fish on the most part look for still, planted or rocky parts of a creek to have their fry in. So they have places to hide and they can manage to hunt without the current blasting them away! It's also where the mozzies like to lay there eggs for much the same reasons!
@ExAussieNavalAircrew5 ай бұрын
Mosquito fish (gambusia) are not any better mosquito predators than the small bodied native fish that they displace, in fact generally the contrary is true. In addition they are notorious fin-nippers and harass small natives. They are a declared noxious invasive species for good reason.
