I like bullheads. When I was younger, I kept some in an aquarium. They would eat worms right from your fingers. Really neat fish

So I go camping a lot. And last year me and this younger boy I go camping with sat down on the dock for 2 straight days. We obviously went back to eat and go to sleep and have a fire and stuff but every day we where out there for at least 6-8 hours cause we would wake up at 7:30 and go at 8. That year we caught 64 bullhead and had a feast. I’m also from MN and that’s where we caught them. 😁

Dang, i was fishing a really poor lake last open water season for sunfish to bring home and eat for dinner. I saw my bobber go down and it stayed down. I set the hook and it set me off guard. I thought i got snagged on a rock, because i set that hook somewhat aggressively, but the only thing that happened was my rod bent almost in two, and whatever i hooked did not budge an inch. Im trying to real in my setup, but i feel a very large fish fighting back, i assumed i must be hooked on a pretty decent pike. I get it closer to the dock and realize it kinda looks like a bass in the water. I grab the net and pull it up, it was a 3 pound yellow bullhead on 4 pound mono, lol. I have caught similar sized bullhead pretty often and didnt realize the state record was that small. Knowing what you've said, I've likely caught a bullhead much larger than the state record. 😂

A beetle spinner works well with a bright colored mister twister. Also if you get stung the slime from the underbelly will neutralize the stinging venom from the dorsal and pectoral spines
