Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman and Jimmy Fallon honor Nicole Kidman, recipient of the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award - America's highest honor for a career in film - on April 27, 2024 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
THE 49th AFI LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: A TRIBUTE TO NICOLE KIDMAN premieres on TNT on Monday, June 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The show, which celebrates Kidman’s career in film and television, features tributes from co-stars and friends Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Zac Efron, Jimmy Fallon, Morgan Freeman, Hugh Jackman, Joey King, Mike Myers, Zoe Saldaña, Aaron Sorkin, Meryl Streep, Miles Teller, Keith Urban, Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon. The show will re-air on TCM on Thursday, June 27 at 8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. PT.

Nonsense. Nicole’s career started well before Cate so self explanatory she would be honoured first they’re also arguably on par as far as talent & resume

@@ry8102 On par? Really? Yes, Kidman started early but she does not have much range unlike Blanchett who has ability to slip into characters without seeming gimmicky, accent adaptations, screen presence, chameleonic ability to embody characters.

@@rics1883 range isn't everything... I say this, holding them up equally on the same pedestal. Cate Blanchett might've given more serious and demanding performances in her career, but Nicole's performance always come off as more sincere, more genuine, and she's bloody brilliant at both drama and comedy, and even romance come to think of it... Cate is a drama through and through. Meryl Streep is the GOAT, but Nicole Kidman & Cate Blanchett have always been my number 2 and 3!

Pretty sure cate has like 5 projects set to be done soon or filming at the moment. Tours and promo for such films Then she also runs her own production company Pretty sure Hugh is on location for a project. Relax. Nick seemed to enjoy the laugh and felt the love

Honestly, this skit is probably a favor. Someone from AFI called and asked them if they would like to honor Nicole Kidman and they were like yeah, but all of them have obligations to their job and family. Jimmy needs to host his nightly show, Cate has 4 children and flies all over Europe for work. Dunno about Hugh but he is probably a busy man too.
