I thought Tuna was a typo of small fish until I noticed the freaking size.

Albacore tuna is one of the smaller tuna species, reaching sizes between skipjack tuna and yellowfin. They are bullet-shaped with a dark blue back and lighter blue-gray sides and belly. Albacore tuna also have very long pectoral fins and live for around 12 years. They tend to travel in single species schools, without the level of mixing as seen in other species and migrate throughout all ocean waters and the Mediterranean. These fish are important commercially, as they are one of the two main canned tuna species (along with skipjack), and labeled as ‘solid white’ tuna. Although tuna do provide food and livelihoods for people, they are more than just seafood. Tuna are a top predator in the marine food chain, maintaining a balance in the ocean environment.

There are 3 types of bluefin tuna - Atlantic (the largest and most endangered), Pacific and Southern. Fish around 70-100kg or more are called jumbo or barrels. Fish in the 10-40kg range are called schoolies, in the 45-60kg range, they’re called kegs. They can grow to 160kg and over 2m in fork length. However, they are commonly caught in the 10 to 25kg size range, with the big fish ranging in size from 80 to 140kg. Any fish over 120kg+ is an exceptional fish. Officially, the largest SBT ever caught was 167.5kg, caught in Tathra on the South Coast of NSW, Australia in 2009. However, there was a large bluefin tuna caught recreationally from South Australia which was in excess of 170kg.
