Yes, that's why it's called a rock bucket. A rock bucket is more heavy duty than a General Purpose bucket. How fast the wear plates wear down depends on how abrasive the rock is. Usually you measure how long the wear plates' last by the amount of hours it has been on the machine from the time it was installed to the time it gets changed.

Question, Is that a special bucket used to pick up rock? If it is not how much extra wear does that put on the bucket as far as how long the teeth last? Thanks love your videos!

Seeing as how im running the Hitachi 870 hoe for the rest of the year im LOVING this vid PA well done buddy. Even the the shot looks horrible he is doing a good job of finessing thru it. Here in GA we use to D9 to make us pads to bench on so we can have a easy less stressfull time digging . When ur having to back load and build your pad as you go its not as effective as you digging with the bucket facing the trucks.

Well I think I give a pretty dam good wide selection of mining equipment videos from all different manufactures, new and old. I always am looking for older and unique mining equipment for my Channel. If you’re trying to tell me not to film any more Cat mining equipment, that won't happen. If you’re trying to tell me to not go crazy filming the 385 like others, that will happen.

your a LUCKY guy! im on and off a 330cl ,D6R, 938G, 318cl and 320cl... almost zero of big iron here in my state and it SUCKS. Try applying out of state and its almost impossible. some day i hope to get my shot at the big stuff

That has an ME stick...

The rock is just the overburden, it get's transported to the dump and used for backfilling the pit. The rock is not used for anything. The coal is what they are mining.

How good are daewoo excavators compared to say cat or komatsu because I have never herd of one untill I started my heavy equipment class. Its the only excavator there right now and it seams good but its the only type of excavator I've ever operated

Could do with a Heavy Duty windshield Guard on the Cat ! if one of those boulders decides to roll down the load towards the machine it could be brown trouser time !!

Hey PA, The reason I liked your videos so much is that you never did alot of Cat stuff & you covered all the other makes that other people WONT cover.. Theres ENOUGH videos of Cat equipment out there, Pull away from the pack & go back to all the other good manufacturers.....
